  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) Dad - A nice retirement house up in Sedona (gotta be near a golf course like Balta), so that I have an excuse to go visit him. Mum - Some really cool artsy / craftsy stuff. She's likes all of that. Oh yeah, and I'd find a cure for diabetes, so my friend wouldn't have to prick himself everyday. What about that hot sister of yours?
  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) What do you think are the chances of the Bulls trading for a center on Dec 15? Zero unless chandler/sweetney are put on the dl for long term.
  4. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) Wins and losses do count in the end I guess. From 1990-2000 the Bulls had 520 wins, the Jazz had 542 but the Jazz never won the grand prize. I guess I'll have to be satisfied with the two men who showed millions how to play the game the right way. Don't need to be flashy, just execute perfectly. Stockton and Malone had huge hearts but that can only go so far. So what if they didn't win a championship, I'm still proud of them. The years after the dynasty needs to be thrown out the window. Some of the worst teams ever put together.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) No, you'll sweep worst poster award. What if we nominate white sox josh? Close call i say.
  6. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) Actually it had to do with Uribe... and I said Uribe was going to have an OPS It seems like such an obvious bet now, but I think this was when Crede was truly sucking. Oh s*** you are right...
  7. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 11:59 PM) And thank you for being redundant as I said that already. You were implying the teams were equal. Clearly was not the case.
  8. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 11:57 PM) Dang... Does anyone remember what my sig bet was? or even who it was with? I'm sure I won. Shh2005... or jabroni... whatever you rather call him. Was about cotts too i believe.
  9. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) Oh cmon now, the Bulls went 4-4 against the Jazz in the 97-98 season, they just won 4 of the 6 really important ones. I could care less if the jazz swept them in the regular season as long as they won the ''important'' ones.
  10. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) I said he declined a lot more than most great players do. Sure he wasn't like a Penny Hardaway but you could tell he significantly lost a step or two. Not many players went as hard night in night out as pippen. His drop off is not as signifigant as you make it out to be... but there clearly was one. I don't think many people have seen him ''dog'' a play... EVAR. Jordan? Have seen it plenty of times when he got lazy on defense. Like 99 said he jordan was possibly the best on ball defender in the league when he wanted to... but as he got older i personally saw less and less of it.
  11. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) lol I knew I was going to get some comments about that. Winning 4-2 each time isn't really beating the s*** out of them. Especially when there were very, very generous calls, but that's another story. When you have one of the best teams organized ( talent wise) you are damn right they are gonna get some calls. That is why i do not b**** when the superstars of today get every call their way. Was just like that for the bulls for nearly a decade... the bulls have had their fair share of calls go their way.
  12. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 11:33 PM) I hope you mean just guarding big men. I was agreeing with almost everything you were saying about PIP in this thread 'til now... I am saying he was the better one on one defender out of the two. Clearly neither were a slouch but i would give the edge to rodman. He would keep everyone off balance and would even let the passer get the ball into the man he was guarding countless times a game. I have never seen anything like it. I know i am not the only one with that train of thought.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) All losers. No offense. Graves was horrid this past year. Hammons (isn't he a lefty?) has no stuff and is washed up (maybe he put up good numbers, hell I never knew how he put up good numbers but he did a couple years). Shiggy hasn't been a good reliever in a few years Ben Weber is god awful Jeff Nelson is an old fart Dotel wasn't great last year, but he's still young, has a power arm, and has above average stuff (plus he's been able to pitch). He's actually got ability and consideringh is injury (and the fact that hte Sox have depth) I think he'd be a nice guy to look at. I have no idea if he's expected back at the start of the season, but he's be a nice insurance plan and could be a good arm in the pen (although I'm sure he'd want to go to a team where he'd have a better shot at closing). I saw a game in the summer... it was the reds and braves triple a teams. Very nice stadium they have their in louisville. Andy marte looked like s*** at the time... he was hacking at everything up to the plate. He ended up hitter a homerun that barely got out to left field. Only hit he had in the three games i saw there. I came away more impressed with denorfia. Made good contact on everything. Anyway, weber was warming up and he threw two pitches into the stands within five pitches. Kids were laughing at him and giving him s*** and he was like '' f*** this s*** i have had it'' and went into the dugout.
  14. Btw, i believe rodman> pippen defensively that is not even including their rebounding skills. I know someone will bring up pippens steals but believe it or not steals and blocks look good in the box score but they are only about a quarter of the game defensively imo.
  15. QUOTE(Jake @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Seems like we have some Pip fans, so don't kill me. I never got the opportunity to watch in the dynasty days, so this is just what I've been told. Friend of mine says Pippen was definitely helped out a lot by Jordan. Says Pip looked great when the bulls were up by 20 and MJ had dropped 30-40 on the opposition, but when MJ wasn't making shots it was like Pip just turned off. I argued that didn't the bulls make the playoffs without him when he went to B-Ham? He told me that Pippen thrived around a lot of talent that was still left. I dunno.. you tell me what to think here. Your friend needs to be slapped with a frying pan.
  16. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) I used defense as an example and I honestly don't remember him almost being an MVP in 2002. You say it's a shame that he won't be considered one of the greats because he played behind Jordan. (And by the way I believe they both were very good players that complitmented each other as good as any in NBA history.) What is a shame are other players, notably John Stockton, who had nearly 20,000 points, the all-time leader in assists with nearly 16,000 and steals with over 3,000 steals doesn't get recognition about being apart of the all-time greats. There are just players that will be like that, Stockton is one of them, and so is Pippen. Stockon is considered to be the best pure point guard in nba history by many, many people.
  17. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) That's cool the Pippen got his number retired, but I still think he was very lucky to be with Jordan, along with many other players. He would've been a good, solid player non the less, but who knows if he would've been Hall of Fame material without Jordan. Would have been better in my opinion and would have gotten alot more recognition. He was the best all around player in the league the when jordan went to try out baseball.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) Regardless of what happens tonight, this game REALLY shows how much we need Ben. We've done a great job not turning it over, and still are struggling to score. Without Ben's offensive firepower, we aren't the same. We never need ben gordon... EVAR.
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) Maybe Pippen didn't want him there. He supposedly has better things to do with his time... so who knows.
  20. Also, gordon will be out the next two games... * tear*. Chadler and hinrich will be able to play. Krause is a douche and will not be at the game to honor pippen.

  23. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 12:02 AM) If i get an award it will be for most hated poster. This has dougly written all over it...
  24. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) no he didn't. In fact the play he got hurt on was a play that he made a great leaping play on a Pierre chopper. He was also pretty good at digging balls out of the dirt. Yes, orton is good too.
