QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) Did you ever see him play 1B. All he couldn't do was throw. He had decent range and he had a good glove. Was he a great fielder? No, but he wasn't that bad either. Yes, he sucked... you come up with some crazy ideas/conclusions/everything.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) i don't buy it for a second that he can be a fulltime 1B. His days at 1B are done. (never that bad of a 1B) Never that bad of a first baseman? You sound like an uneducated cubs fan...cheesus lice.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 10:32 PM) Bulls***. Ozzie gave up on Marte a LONG time ago. That can't be why he was the last reliever out of the pen against the astros right ( not counting buehrle as a reliever)?

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) I give up...

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) Touche. But to say he didnt have his best game of the year against Carolina (68.8) would be foolish. That said, I dont really like the QB rating, but I try to manipulate it. I read something about how it works and it's kind of crude. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) Stick to the White Sox.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) Ok, Mr. Pat myself on the back. You owe me a sig cause of our Cotts bet, you also said Hermy would suck so lets not get to full of ourselves. Hermanson got by the last two months pitching like s*** i do not care what anyone says. You know i was one of the only cotts supporters around here. I did not want him to fail and you know it.

QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) Some Podsednik bashing, Sox hating, Indian supporting.. Podsednik sucks ( oh ya he is one of the best lead-off men in baseball... )... never really bashed the sox, alot of people said much worse than i did. I i do like the indians, i don't see what the problem is. I was the only one that could admit the indians would be damn good in 2005. Said their pen would > ours ( most people thought they would repeat what they did in 2004. Most os soxtalk also thought their offense would suck and they would not get near their 2005 numbers offensively... oops. There was nothing to update for a long time and then BOOM and i have not really had time. Updating a free agent list on soxtalk was not my main priority but i will try getting it updated soon.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) His critics don't like his road splits but the truth is that he's young and headstrong right now but his talent is still amazing and he will be an Eric Chavez-type player for a long time I am not a big fan of his now that he is on a two year decline ( hard decline last year). His splits do indeed suck once he is away from a great hitters park, why is that not a concern with you? He has not just been like this last year or the year before... but also in hsi rookie year, which happened to be his best year. I know fathom has some insight about blalock and his personality i believe ( something of that sort). You put this guy in a park in the lower half ( hitters parks) he would be lucky to crack a .700 ops.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) i wasn't the only one who liked Shingo. People like him because of what he did in 2004. You liked how he was pitching in 2005 and would make up 1,000,000 excuses for him. Like two other sox fans int he world did such a thing.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) You're just a little slow. I have barely been around give me a break. Last year i was on top of things before most people.

Just saw on espn and they said it was a three year deal. I am thinking it is more like a two year deal with an option for the third.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) The Illini are pissin down the throats of G-town. Augustine looks like a much different player this game. Most of the year he has looked he has been playing like a b****. He is getting thrown around and really takes anything up hard. His defense has seemed to be non existent for the most part. But this game he looks extremely good... liking the hustle. Hibbert already has like twelve blocks. -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) Quite likely. Boston would, IMO, be silly to hold onto Lowell if they have both Youkilis and Marte who can play 3b, and have a couple other guys (that Paniagua guy who beat us with a HR from Japan?) who can play 1b too. SS could also wind up being Julio Lugo, if those rumors pan out. They had to give petagine 750,000 for only 32 at-bats last season. I also believe he only signed a one year contract last year and is a free agent.

QUOTE(G&T @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) In fairness, Tejada is considered one of the hardest working players in the game and would be a great addition to any team. He is a leader as well as a great player. However, it's hard to try your best when the team is going nowhere. I agree in principle with you, but I don't think this is a problem anyone should be concerned with. Is he getting paid millions of dollars to play baseball? He should be going hard every single game. He signed the damn contract and unless he is retarded should have known they would not be in a situation to compete any time soon. I am not saying this is the same thing with garcia but he pitches down to his competition every chance he gets.

QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) He gave up in the second half on purpose as I read it... at least that's what they said on rotoworld. If there was ever a situation that I'd trade Garland, this would be it. The O's should have no worries about Garland regressing as they have Leo Mazzone as their pitching coach... heck maybe they think he can be a solid #1 for them with Mazzone's help. They'd have the money to resign him longterm. We'd have to give up Garland and Uribe for starters. At best we'd have to include a good minor leaguer, at worst JD. There are going to be A LOT of teams gunning for him if he wants out. The Cubs don't have enough major league players they'd be willing to part with IMO. They have to trade them ALL of their top minor leaguers... Pie, Hill, etc. and then some. O's want to contend now... they have Mora, Roberts, Lopez, now Hernandez. They need, want, and will get major league talent in return. The BoSox would be an obvious place for him to land unfortunately. If that is in fact true... he is a douche and he can stay away from us.

Damn, i only live about two miles away from midway.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) Again, for curiosity sake, although we have him pegged, has he ever addressed the matter? Pmed me before about it... playing stupid. I could really care less if it is him as long as he keeps posting like he does now. But i wish that he will just admit it... so blatantly obvious.

I had my dad do this... he got them all correct, he is sixty.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) He would be a good backup for Crede. I do believe that Borchard can handle being the 25th guy on a team and a last guy on the bench. Not sure if it will help his development though. Wasn't Marte originally a Pirate? Thought so. Also, I thought the Pirates were enamored with Borchard in the past. Surprised they didn't ask for him too Mariner... got him from the pirates...

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) According to George Offman of the Score, the addition of Rob Mackowiak will result in the departure of Timo Perez. Best news of the off-season... by far.
