  1. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) Lasik = Legal way of correcting vision which is also correctable via glasses and contacts Steroids = Illegal substance used to grow muscle which naturally can not be achieved Big difference???? Also if someone gave you steroids or any illegal substance without your knowledge, wouldn't you sue the s*** out of them???? Why doesn't Palmeiro sue Tejada, or Bonds, Giambi and Sheffield sue Balco. They didn't know they were given steroids from balco just like i don't know you get wet in the shower.
  2. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) I think so too, but it was a flop. Says who? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114746/ http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/12_monkeys/ http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=twelvemonkeys.htm http://www.boxofficemojo.com/bradpitt.html
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) So...you're saying that you think Jon will nearly double what he earned last year ($3.4 million) if they go to arbitration? I have trouble believing that. Low side he will sign a 6 million dollar one year contract. What i expect is 6.5ish. High side 7 million dollar one year contract. If kenny knows how arbitration works ( for some reason i think he may) he won't be foolish enough to offer anything below six million.
  4. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) he takes a ton of pitches. Everytime I have seen him against the Braves and other teams he is taking a ton of pitches. He is an ideal lead off man. His at-bats usually last around 11 pitches and he can get on base. He avearges 11 pitches per at-bat... cheesus lice. Do you ever check/re-read anything you post?
  5. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) To Quote hawk.. Where is he going to play? Right where he is now. I never see anderson or owens out producing dye... not during this current contract anyway.
  6. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) If Anderson pans out, and OWens proves he is ready we are going to need that option money to sign a SP. His 4.85 million dollar deal for 2007 is and will be even more of a bargain by then. Unless he hits in the .240 range in 2006 that option will be picked up.
  7. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:31 PM) Has anyone thought of this.. Anderson gets his feet wet this year in CF.. 07 Dye leaves now we know if Anderson is the real deal or is Joe B Version 2.0. If he is as good as advertised he takes over in RF and Owens comes up in 07 to take over CF, getting the same treatment as anderson this year. I see the Sox doing this with a back-up plan for the simple reason we are a team strpped for cash, we need our farm system to produce cheap talent. This way in 07 when we have to either re-sign Jose C or go after another SP in the market, to keep us atop of the ALC again. We will not be picking up dye's cheap option in 2007 why...?
  8. QUOTE(JimH @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Stop. The White Sox probably wouldn't even do Marte straight up for Wilkerson, let alone add Brian Anderson. Wilkerson is a strikeout machine, that's not what they need as a #2 hitter. What should he stop? Stop with crazy offers like marte for wilkerson? The white sox would not do marte for wilkerson because if they tried the nationals would literally laugh at them. They are not in the same ballpark. I don't see see anderson out producing wilkerson in the next three years, offensively and defensively combined. In general strikeouts are overated quite a bit but old school people cannot get over them usually. Hell we are gonna have three guys next year combine for nearly 400 strikeouts. If you put wilkerson in anderson's place that is probally adding 30 more strikeouts for a much better offensive player with higher potential. I know you will disagree but i am not a big fan of anderson's choppy and hacky approach at the plate... wilkerson has a better approach than anderson. Once he gets out of rfk... and the nl as whole like 3E8 mentioned.
  9. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) i think you misunderstand what I am saying. I am saying that you have to have a different mindset for each film. You can't just judge movies by one thing. For example if you go to 2 Fast 2 Furious with the same mindset as the Godfather. If you did that you would hate it. However if you go in not expecting a really smart movie but an entertaining movie with great action scenes than you will like it. Who the f*** does what i put in bold? QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) a better example would be Boyz n the Hood because Singleton did direct both of those movies. Yes, most people expect the same thing when they watch 2 fast 2 furious and boyz in the hood. I know i did.
  10. Refs looking pretty good tonight...
  11. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) i think you misunderstand what I am saying. I am saying that you have to have a different mindset for each film. You can't just judge movies by one thing. Oh k think may be true. But anaconda was not even a good bad movie.
  12. QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) He would be a whole lot better than Pierre. I doubt the Nats will trade him but I know him and Frank Robinson had kind of a falling out. His defense in CF is above average to anyone wondering. He would fit very nicely in the 2 hole being a high OBP guy. In a down year with injuries he was still above average. He is one of my favorite players in the league. I said before last year that i think he will bust out soon and i still think it will happen, but the chances are not as likely if he stays in such a s*** offensive park. I think once he get out of rfk he will put up some big offensive numbers. The year he gets traded he will asplode in my opinion. Just wish we could get our hands on him some how.
  13. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) I loved Anaconda. I thought it was a very smart thriller and Jon Voight was great. LOLOLOL... smart thriller for a retard maybe.
  14. Surf nazis must die was a good one.
  15. This is f***ing weird. Wite asked me what i thought about a marte for wilkerson deal earlier today. I basically said they would laugh at you and said what cheat did...
  16. QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) Ace Ventura #1 Army of Darkness Happy Gilmore Heavy Metal The Last Starfighter Monty Python & The Holy Grail Spaceballs UHF The Waterboy Young Frankenstein You are on some crack here... A movie that belongs in this thread? Howard the duck.
  17. I would take realgms bulls board over bbb... but as a whole? I view bbb being superior.
  18. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) Worst idea ever. Scott Podsednik works the count, draws walks, hits doubles, and steals if he doesn't. I just can't fathom how you could even possibly offer this as an idea. I figured by moving Iguchi you meant down to 6th. We have a leadoff man, possibly the best in baseball behind Carl Crawford. Teams spend out the ass for a leadoff guy of Podsednik's calibre (look at the bidding war for Furcal). Pods is our boy! Podsednik is not the best or second best in baseball... leading off that is. He can work the count decently but he is very streaky. He will walk five times in two games then walk twice in the next ten days... would like more consistency. He was on pace to break his record for doubles last season. if he didn't get injured he would have likely gotten there. Steals like s***... boo hoo he was injured, stop f***ing running then. He will strike out looking more times next year than anyone on our team next year... which is quite a feat. With that said he is by far the better option to lead off.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) Of course that doesn't mean the Knicks won't be motivated (especially Jamal and Eddy). I'm guessing Eddy is still out? So is tonights game on WGN or something? Curry is probally gonna be out but who cares... frye>> curry already. Game is on wciu at 6:30. Nocioni's birthday today too.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) Not much for the Cubs. There are a few Bears boards. I've long wondered if there would be interest in opening up other boards specific to the Bears and Bulls. Cubs have a bigger board than the bulls specificly do. I don't know if the bears have a specific board or not but i do know a couple off message boards ( that cover the entire nfl) are surrounded with bears fans for whatever reason.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was completely uninteresting. I went to see it with two friends last year on like a Wednesday because we had nothing better to do, and there was nobody else in the theater. After about 45 minutes, none of us were paying any attention to the movie and just throwing things around in the empty theater. Is there by any chance a movie you have liked in your life? Serious question. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) It does help to have read the book... Most definitely the case... Oh and how are any cartoon movies rated pg anymore? Madagascar was definitely not directed towards kids one bit.
