  1. LOL, well forget about Kentucky pre-season #1. http://kentuckysportsradio.com/?p=79127 Jones, Knight, Liggins all going pro.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 08:43 AM) UNC is going to be scary good next year. Yeesh. I have never seen this much talent on a roster, and UK could match them talent wise if they return Knight and Jones.
  3. Harrison Barnes officially returns for sophomore season.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) IMO Bynum is done. that knee is 40 years older than that body, and it bent badly. His body language showed me that he knows it is NOT good So much for an Oden/Bynum matchup blossoming over the years like I expected.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 09:06 AM) This has been the most enjoyable basketball season of my entire life. Derrick Rose is MY player, dammit. I was 8 years old when the Bulls won in 91. I grew up knowing the Bulls as great. Jordan always "was". I stuck with the Bulls, like many and few at the same time, through the thin of the post-Jordan era. If I saw him on the street, there's a chance I'd murder E-Rob. Anyway, I am mystified with how great this team has become. It has restored my faith in the game and the NBA system. A well-coached team of "good guys" who buy into the system, behind and up-and-coming home-grown superstar, CAN have the best record in the Eastern Conference. The playoffs are going to be a different beast entirely, but I feel good about this team against anyone. The roster is even deeper than the Lakers, and they all play hard. I cannot wait for the playoffs. Bring me the Pacers. You can't handle The Hansbrough.
  6. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 02:54 PM) Might as well post Andy Katz's early top-25 if we're moving on to next year already: Early top-25 Obviously there are going to be a ton of changes, but the drop-off after #8 or so already has me worried for another uninspiring season. I think the drop off after UNC and UK will be pretty severe. It will either be UK, UNC or UNC, UK depending on what Barnes, Jones, and Knight do.
  7. Awful game overall. They even had to get Houston and Rice students to sit in the student section for UConn to fill it up.
  8. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) Damn, if Barnes and either of their bigs stay, UNC is going to be pretty damn good. Yep, but these reports of Barnes staying are premature. It all started with a random Twitter post, and went from there. Nothing substantial yet. I think Zeller would be silly to return after the tournament he just had, but I won't complain.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 30, 2011 -> 07:58 AM) Honestly, and I know i'll get killed for this, but Texas or Kentucky and frankly after winning the BET UConn had an argument too. Not saying UNC was a bad team at all, but they were being talked up as one of the main national title threats. The committee said if they won the ACC Tourney they would have been a #1. I know college basketball was weak this year but that was not a 1/2 seed. They should have lost to Washington in the second round, they got lucky Washington plays so out of control. I mean they had two top 25 wins all year. And RPI is kind of a joke, i'm sure you know that. It's all a moot point right now but they just never struck me as a legitimate threat. They played erratically and then turned it on at the end. They were a young team and it showed. I just never bought into the end of year hype with them I guess. Wasn't really erratic play. It was either before Kendall Marshall started and then with Kendall Marshall starting. UNC was 17-3 this season after Marshall got the nod. You can make the argument that they should have beaten Kentucky if not for a ridiculous 12-22 display from behind the arc. Kentucky was 0-16 from 3 in their loss last year against West Virginia. :-(. UNC only had one bad loss on the year, and that was the reason for the player change, which was at Georgia Tech. Not a bad season for a team that was down 5 scholarship players in the tournament.
  10. Tough way to lose 8 on 5. But UConn should have their way with Kentucky and their fools gold 3's.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 07:24 PM) If there was a guarantee that NBA basketball would happen next year...Coach K to the Lakers might be a possibility, but he's not leaving Duke only to have a lockout happen. Coach K will never leave Duke until he's the all-time leader in wins. He's very similar to his mentor Bob Knight. Knight only coached his last year and a half at Texas Tech to get to 900 wins and then quit mid-season. Every year the Lakers offer Roy Williams the job, and he quietly turns it down. Then they offer it to K, and he make sure the media knows about it each year when he turns it down. Funny stuff. Bob Knight and K are the same person, except that Bob doesn't care what anyone thinks. Coach K tries to hide his personality behind a charade of being a "leader of men".
  12. QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 11:30 PM) Why do these college kids feel the need to always pass it back out when driving towards the rim? Derwin Kitchen has done that 3 times already in this tournament. How he ends up with the ball at the end of halves is beyond me. He can't even get shots off. It's hilarious and sad at the same time.
  13. I'm actually in 1st place on our yahoo league. END IT NOW!
  14. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 11:03 PM) OSU, not an elite team, sorry. No elite teams the past two seasons.
  15. Two blowouts followed by two great ones.
  16. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 09:48 PM) How come Brandon Knight doesnt get talked about much, wasnt he the top rated prospect along with Barnes and he seemingly has had a pretty good season and PG usually is a glamor spot. He's not a true PG. Basically a SG that is playing PG. However, he has the athletic potential to hang with the rest of the PG freaks in the NBA.
  17. Ugly game, but I'll take it. It was a nice run before the beatdown from Ohio State coming Sunday.
  18. QUOTE (scenario @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 11:38 AM) Marquette is going to bust alot of brackets tonight. Only for those who had Marquette in the Elite 8.
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 09:46 PM) 1 and 2 in the draft this year? Very possible. I think so. Barnes and Kanter are the only other two options. This would be my order right now. 1. Irving 2. Williams 3. Barnes 4. Kanter
  20. Duke played a perfect half of basketball and Derrick Williams kept Arizona in the game by himself. Irving and Williams are putting on a show for the NBA scouts.
  21. QUOTE (YASNY @ Mar 20, 2011 -> 04:57 PM) He was too busy driving drunk. Ah, I see. You can be a racist and a cheater, but not a drunk at UK.
  22. QUOTE (YASNY @ Mar 20, 2011 -> 02:02 PM) Texas can have him. Kentucky is glad he's gone. Yep, Gillispie was unwilling to buy players and Kentucky fans just won't stand for that.
  23. Texas Tech is set to hire Billy Gillispie. I'm very excited. He has done a tremendous job in Texas coaching.
  24. Refs missed a nice Patrick Ewing type travel on the last play for Kentucky.
