Bought a new TV
Have the same TV and DirecTV as well. You won't be dissapointed at all, it's amazing. Just make sure you research the proper settings on the TV for the amount of hours viewed. Sites like Avsforum.com are a big help.

Official 2008-2009 College Football Thread
Texas Tech 14th overall, and UNC picked 4th in the ACC, should be an awesome football year for me.

Nick Masset's Reds career...
I don't know what they can count on with Homer Bailey. He's a guy that should have an ERA of 5 in the NL just on stuff alone. He's 0-5, with a 7.55 ERA and 51 hits given up in 31 IP with only 14 K's to 14 BB's. One of the weirdest things I have ever seen.

Brandon Allen with his 20th homer on the season. Nice.

Rylan Reed, former Sox prospect
Can't find anything on him either. Always wondered about Dan Wright as well.

Rylan Reed, former Sox prospect
Rylan is about 6'7 315 pounds now, which is especially impressive putting up 600+ at 6'7. Always wanted to see him and Brian West out there dominating on the mound with their size, but it never worked out on the mound.

Rylan Reed, former Sox prospect
Just wanted to let everyone know what Rylan Reed is up to. He pitched in our system for a few years before going back to football, and has been Texas Tech's starting LT for a few years now. Two years ago he set the school record with a 565 pound bench press. Then he got cancer, he overcame the cancer, then proceeded to break his leg in the Gator bowl this past January. What has he been doing in the offseason? Not much, just upped his bench press to 625 pounds. Anyways, just thought I would share, he's an amazing guy on and off the field.

Word is that John Wall's pimp Clifton is going to be hired on as Director of Basketball Operations at Oklahoma State to bring Wall with him. Gotta love disgusting "handlers" and disgusting universities like Oklahoma State.

I still prefer our lemonade guy in Spring Training. "Lemonade, Lemonade, like your gramama made!". I couldn't get that out of my head.

Clippers should sign and trade Baron Davis to the Heat for Shawn Marion. That would be a-ok.

HDTV gurus
Most online stores like BestBuy will only match offers from other online stores that also have storefronts in person, such as Circuit City, Sears, etc. I ended up buying my Panasonic Plasma from BuyDig.com because of it's price and it arrived in perfect shape and I'm loving it.

You can't really go wrong with Sony or Samsung. However, I would lean towards the Samsung as well. Here's a couple of sites that could really help you, http://reviews.cnet.com/televisions/?tag=promo.tv http://www.avsforum.com

Signings from the 2008 Draft
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 11:20 AM) Steven Upchurch signed, he's on Bristol's roster now. He can be bolded out. That's like getting Nevin signed last year, huge.

Yes, Paul had some questions about his character coming out. He punched Julius Hodge in the nuts and had a few other incidents during college. Well that and Deron Williams style fit Utah to a T.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 06:50 PM) How can anyone possibly be that ignorant/lazy? I'm not going to say stupid, because if he's smart enough to play sports, then he should be smart enough to study or get help studying. Sad that some kids are that ignorant. But he has it made. He goes overseas for a year and sees the world and gets a few million to play for a year before being drafted into the NBA. He just has to hope his game doesn't get exposed playing against professionals.

Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
I don't know what's not to like about Westbrook. 6'3 with long arms and one of the best athletes in the draft. Showed he had potential at the PG position last year when Collison went down. He's already an elite defender and has shot 35% from 3 during his career, and 46% overall for his career. All of this and he's a month younger than Derrick Rose. He even played in an offense that was an exact opposite fit for him. As for Chalmers, he was WAY undervalued on draft day. I had him rated at about 14th-15th overall. I think Westbrook is a younger more athletic version of Chalmers.

Cash and 09 2nd round pick from Miami for Mario Chalmers. NICE. Two starters out of one draft.
