  1. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 06:56 PM) One ranked Big 12 team is gonna lose on the road to an unranked team this weekend since there are five games like that. MU is gonna beat Nebraska and I don't see Texas or OU losing, so my best guess is Tech loses to a hungry K-State team. KSU is coming off of games giving up 577 yards to Louisville, and 509 yards to Louisiana-Lafayette...
  2. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 02:11 PM) Wow, KU only 12.5 point favorites over ISU. Odd. Texas Tech is only 7 point favorites over KSU.
  3. Tough game last night. Kendall Simmons and Rashard Mendenhall lost for the season. The Ray Lewis hit on Rashard was just nasty. Can't say I'm saddened by Kendall being out though, he was brutal.
  4. Yeah I saw that, but I also saw 19 errors in 109 games. Who knows, maybe his stats lie, sometimes it happens. I just think they really missed the boat with Brandon.
  5. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 10:10 PM) Hicks plays a premium position at SS while Allen by all accounts plays a below average first base. Not sure is Hicks is a good SS but having a middle infielder with good power is always a plus and probably why he's rated higher. The thing is, Hicks hit .235 in A ball as a 23 year old. He struck out 122 times in 342 at-bats. If he's the best defensive shortstop in the minor leagues, then I could understand a little bit. However, having seen him in the Big 12, I know that he's not.
  6. Steelers best offense is the Ravens players miniscule IQ's.
  7. lol at this OL and Bruce Arians. Both are as bad as it gets in the NFL.
  8. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 05:51 PM) On edit: Forgot about the Detroit game. Just saw your edit, so now my post is pointless. Which is pretty normal :-).
  9. Saw this on another board, dook > Navy > WFU > Ole Miss > Florida... dook > Florida College football is pretty crazy. Zen, you guys are definitely headed in the right direction, you have talented freshmen all over the field. I don't think either Butch or Shannon are gameday coaches, but instead are excellent recruiters.
  10. Damn, what a game UNC-Miami. Miami almost caught the winning touchdown with no time left, but it was just off the fingertips. Hell of a game.
  11. I don't see the excitement over Armstrong. .261, 8 HR, 48 RBI's, 15 BB, 57 K's, .300 OBP at 25 years old already. The only catcher I'm remotely interested in inside our system is Fransisco Hernandez, and he hasn't panned out yet either. Kevin Dubler dissapointed in his short time in rookie ball, but I think he could break out next year and become our best catching prospect after a litttle more time in professional ball.
  12. You should be proud WilliamTell. I would have let my temper get the best of me in that situation.
  13. Wasserman coming in with the bases loaded to relieve MacDougal... I swear Ozzie just selects names from a hat in the dugout. This is so stupid that it's bound to work and Ozzie will be called a genius. I can only hope.
  14. Beau Mills 5th place and Brandon Allen 14th? Mills, 8/15/1986, .293 21 HR, 90 RBI, 78 Runs, 54 BB, 105 K's, 2 SB's, 3 3B's, 506 SLG% all in A ball Allen,2/12/1986, .278 29 HR, 75 RBI, 87 Runs, 60 BB, 124 K's, 14 SB's, 6 3B's, 555 SLG% split between A/AA ball Brandon is bigger, faster, has more power and put up some of his best numbers at a higher level. Yet... Just noticed Brandon Hicks above Brandon Allen as well. Now I know they are delusional. Hicks, 9/14/1985, .235 20 HR, 63 RBI, 52 BB 139 K's ....... really
  15. Ichiro at 17M a year as a 35 year old, or Brian Roberts resigned for 11-12M a year at 31 years old.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 06:01 PM) AMEN. Floyd, Anderson, Fields, Shelby, Poreda. We could probably get Brian Roberts for a package of Poreda, Shelby, Getz, Fields.
  17. QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 12:58 PM) Rashanti Smith a stud big man (#26) in the nation gives his verbal to Georgia State. Wow, that's thinking out of the box for the big fella. I guess he has a long running relationship of some sort with the coachat Ga. State. He doesn't have much going for him academically and wouldn't have had a chance in D-! unfortunately. But I bet Ga. State's head coach sent a thank you letter to David Stern :-P.
  18. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 04:44 PM) Question, is this anywhere close to Manhattan which would have a College Football game (and a decent one at that)? I am thinking of going out to Philly and possibly seeing Penn State in November though. Unfortunately the NY area teams like Rutgers and Syracuse really blow this year. But you might be able to see a game like UConn at Rutgers etc which is on 10/18.
  19. QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:54 PM) It worked pretty well for the Dolphins against the Pats this weekend though. I'm no fan of Shoop, but a lot of teams are going to some form of the "wild hog" to get better numbers in the "box" for the running game, with some nice results. Well, Ronnie Brown and Darren McFadden actually threw the ball out of the set, which is the point. Shoop just keeps using run plays out of the set. We get to see Paulus and Sexton splitting reps against Miami this week, that should be "fun".
  20. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 10:59 PM) Can't be worse than Dave Clawson at Tennessee... This guy is a f***ing joke. 2 pass plays back-to-back on 3rd and 4th down from the 1 yard line???? Seriously!? Just QB sneak it and you've got 7 points. Instead, they tried to get cute and f***ing pass the ball. That's not Tennessee football, and Fulmer and Clawson need to get fired ASAP. The Tennessee defense is very good however. Only gave up 122 total yards of offense to Tim Tebow, which has to be his lowest output since he became the starter. It's just so frustrating seeing the defense play so well, but the offense is completely inept and worthless. So are the Special Teams units for that matter. I want Will Muschamp as the new Head Coach at Tennessee. Unfortunately, they're all about keeping it in house and bringing in "good 'ol boys" so we'll probably hire some undeserving former assistant like Kippy Brown or some bulls***... I somehow missed your post until now. I'll give you some of the John Shoop play selection. He puts Greg Little as the only player in the backfield and puts TJ Yates with his Dan Marino speed outside. You put a RB in the backfield that can't throw, and a QB that's not a threat as a receiver? What happened? Tackled in the backfield. Did he learn his lesson? Nope, tried the same stupid play again later in the game with the same result. Defense just abandoned the WR's each time and put 10 in the box, suprise suprise. Then, it's his Chicago Bears special. 1st and 10? HB Draw. 2nd and 9? HB Draw. 3rd and 8? Pass. Rinse and repeat.
  21. The official release says he's out 6 weeks minimum, so who knows. Getting him back for the final 4 games would be great, I don't trust Paulus at QB.
  22. TJ Yates done for the season. LOL the life of a UNC football fan, just wow.
  23. An ankle sprain for TJ Yates. Ty Lawson's ankle sprain lasted like 6 weeks, so who knows. Without him, I don't see much of a chance next week. Could be a big defensive struggle.
