Sale became the fastest pitcher in MLB history to reach 1500 strikeouts, doing so in 1,290 total innings. Amazing considering how he came up out of the bullpen first and has pitched in just the AL.

I'll be in attendance with my brother whose home for 1 more week before he returns to South Korea for the Air Force....let's make this count boys!

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 09:52 AM) Yeah, that documentary that came out a few years ago is really sad. Not sure if it is still on Netflix. TYVM That's the one I saw but on YouTube. It hit home since my gf's grandmother is 75 and we believe she's in the mid to late-stages of Alzheimer's. She lives in Florida so we don't get to talk to her much but when she was living in West Lafayette we'd go visit her every other weekend and we were noticing her dementia symptoms gradually getting worse. This was like a year ago.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 06:47 PM) RIP Glen Campbell, 81. Just lost my grandma to Alzheimer's. Not as bad as Glen's but it sad. Crazy. I was just listening to a string of his songs a couple of weeks ago in the garage and also watched a documentary and I wake up to this. Sorry about the loss of your grandma.

I thought this site got hacked. I even went as far as lurking into WSI (which I haven't done in years) to see if anyone would bring up why SoxTalk was down, but nope no mention. It's like I was the only one who cared

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 23, 2017 -> 06:44 PM) Wow... Dombroski calling up Devers. He'll make his big league debut Tuesday against Seattle. Had his first major league hit yesterday, a home run. Helped Chris Sale improve to 13-4.

Rodon can't even get 1 out in the 3rd inning and he's at 70 pitches.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 01:55 PM) No spring training, was hurt and rehabbing most of the year. It will take some time, but he can be really good. No doubt he has the stuff to be a top of the rotation starter, I just think we're all disappointed with the results thus far since he pretty much is the ace of the rotation.
-
Are the injuries getting the best of Rodon? 2 years ago when he first pitched against the Cubs at Wrigley he was awesome. I was in attendance and he threw 8 shutout innings.

Anyone know if the wind is blowing in again? We got 2 pitchers on the mound with an ERA that's up there and trying to guess what the score will be for today. I was way off yesterday.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 02:59 PM) My cousin goes to Vegas by himself every once in awhile. Is that weird? No. The guy knows how to have fun on his own. Don't see anything weird with that.

For those of us stuck at work, how's the atmosphere look? Are Cubs fans having fun shoving 2015 memorabilia at Sox fans while we fight to keep control of the Crosstown Cup? Edit: Oops. Meant to say 2016 memorabilia. -

QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 01:20 PM) 2-0 cubs. EDIT: Nevermind, forgot about our pitching. 6-0 cubs. Hendricks is coming back after being on the shelf for over a month. I gotta think the Sox offense can mustard together at least a run. Who knows? -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 01:14 PM) Wind should be blowing in. That could keep it close. Any guess on what the score will be? -

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 10:31 AM) I really want to go to Vegas multiple times this year: once with a big group of people (a few first timers to introduce them to it) and once by myself so I can just gamble and meet people and do stuff I want to do and not have to worry about waiting on others. Anyone ever go to Vegas (or anywhere) by themselves leisurely? I have a friend who loves doing that based on the reasons I gave. Gotta hit the casino's up on Fremont Street. I was there summer of 2013 and had a blast on my own. A cold IPA in hand and just randomly walking into casino's, bars, and checking out the live bands.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 09:50 AM) The thing for me too is my gf works a lot of weekends, like Fri-Sun sometimes. I work a normal Mon-Fri job. I'm not really feeling that anymore and feel like it's time for us to break up. It's aggravating wanting to do something and all of my friends either have work, lazy from the work week, or spending time with their gfs/wives. This is just my advice, learn to live and be happy by yourself. Between the ages of 22-25 I was working a consistent work schedule: Tue-Sat. So of course everyone wants to be with their family or significant other on a Sunday and everyone is back at work on Monday's. But, I HAD some great times going out to the city on a Sunday evening, meeting new people, having a girl swing by every now and then and some time to just myself. I'm a dad now and I feel happy being with my gf and 6 month old. The whole friend thing I don't really miss cause I guess I never really had much of it. And no, I'm not a loner. I will occasionally have friends swing by and they understand since I don't have the liberty to just go out without having to take the baby with.

Sale now at 10-3 after beating the Twins. Looking at those 3 Loses he pitched against Detroit for 7.2 IP giving up 2 ER, against NYY for 8.0 IP and 3 R (2 ER), and Philadelphia for 8.0 IP w/ just 1 ER. He should be undefeated

Is this what you guys are referring to? I tried this about a month ago and threw it out after a couple of tries. Idk what I was thinking when I purchased it.

Add it to your bacon cheese burger and you're in heaven.

Again, thank you all! I do appreciate all the prayers and good thoughts! I'll post an update when I get a call from the eye doctor's clinic letting me know of the results.
