QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 05:35 PM) Doesn't mean quite as much when you're 14 games out with 7 to play. Last Friday it was rampant on the game thread.
-
Don't see any anger over Dunn playing.
-
Coop helped turn Peavy in to a 5th starter.
-
Walker's problem is that he's not a self-promoter like Coop. If he was, he'd be getting all the credit for Morel and Lillibridge.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 10:50 AM) Team Ozzie is getting desperate now. I don't want Guillen back.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 10:40 AM) LOL, what he is endorsing? He is saying kind things taken out of an interview about a coach he has worked with and called a friend for years? Paul Konerko doesnt need to learn jack s*** from Greg Walker. Look, if Konerko wants him back that says a lot.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 10:40 AM) Totally, like how he is exactly performing how he did in the minors for years before he even worked with Walker once. Totally. What are you talking about? Don't even compare the minors to the majors. You have no idea what Walker's role has been in Morel's turnaround.
-
Brent Morel should save Greg Walker's job.

Morel last 28 days slash - .253/.366 /.532 /.897

Does Walker deserve credit here? -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 07:48 AM) Perhaps he should insinuate those things about some of his current teammates and even Ozzie (sucking off the Twins every year and not going after pitchers after we've been beaned). Maybe he doesn't feel that way about his current teammates or manager Squirt. Anyway, when the best hitter on the team endorses the hitting coach it is something that has to be taken into account when deciding whether or not to retain Walker. I'm sure chairman Reinsdorf is listening.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 11:28 AM) 'Cause Boston has the AL Wild Card locked up. Right. Either them or Tampa Bay.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 11:25 AM) Really if the job is better, and the pay is better, just ask him to release Ozzie from the contract, that way everyone benefits. Jerry doesn't have to can him, and Ozzie can leave of his own free will. What makes you think the Sox job is better?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) I disagree...NL East is way more competitive than AL Central NL Wild Card.
-
It wasn't a better job last year.
-
The interesting thing is that the Florida job is a more attractive one than the White Sox.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 08:56 PM) damn....if only anyone had called for KW to be gone too, this wouldn't be such a devastating defense of Ozziroo! They are right though.
-
Too much dead money on this roster. If I'm Guillen, I need a guarantee through 2013 at the very least.
-
What manager would rather manage the 2012 White Sox on a one-year contract rather than the 2012 Marlins on a multi-year contract? The Sox are in a downward spiral, Guillen knows that and wants out. Can't blame him.

Cooper and/or Ozzie status could affect MB coming back next year

Ss2K5 lost that battle. -

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) The admins should build a group of all trolls/Guillen family members that post here and auto-ignore them for everyone. That way if for some reason you do want to lower your IQ, you have to manually remove them from the ignore list. You are afraid of independent thought. -

Is Dunn the same player Williams signed in December of 2010? -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 02:19 PM) Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? You're giving Ozzie a pass for playing him continuously because of his "track record." Why do you think KW signed him? Because of his sparkling personality? People don't have a problem with Williams signing him because of his track record, but want the track record ignored in July. Ridiculous. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 02:04 PM) '11 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dunn's track record You don't get the benefit of the doubt when you're historically bad. Dunn had more than enough time to pull his head out of his lard ass. He couldn't do it. Other guys were performing, majors and minors, that should've seen a lot more run. If you are historically bad from one year to the next, the GM should not have signed him. I mean these are professional baseball people who have to notice these things. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 02:01 PM) Bingo. Even if you want to talk about his contract, it was July 25th that Kenny made the public statement to play the best 9. The real issue here is that they are 15 games out. Dunn and Rios don't make that difference up if they have years that are expected and that's with Konerko's MVP-type year. Williams construction of the team was all wrong. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) His track record was 4 consecutive months of some of the worst hitting ever seen. That's on the GM for signing him then. Poor scouting.
