  1. I'd like to see something like this in 2012 C AJ 6m Flowers .4m 1B Konerko 12m 2B Beckham .6m* SS 3B Morel .5m* LF De Aza .5m* Lillibridge .6m* CF Rios 12m RF Viciedo 3.25m DH Dunn 14M UT Escobar .4m SP Buehrle 10m* SP Peavy 17m SP Sale 1m* SP Humber 1m* SP Stewart .5M* RP Crain 4.5M RP Ohman 2.5M RP Reed .5m Assuming a payroll of around $105m with additions at short and the pen needed. I might sign someone like Ramon Santiago for 2y/5m. That would be 20 players at about $85m. As I've said before, I'd stock up on pitching for Danks, Floyd, Thornton, Santos, Quentin, and Ramirez. With the economy the way it is, I wouldn't expect more than 75% value in return for that group, however.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2011 -> 10:44 AM) So, you kinda missed the point...keeping Buehrle probably requires moving them. I get that if buehrle leaves you want them gone, but if keeping Buehrle requires trading them...what then? I want Quentin and Danks (and others) gone regardless. I want Buehrle back (at the right price).
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) It's all about what the total salary is. If we have to drop below $110 million, 2/$20 requires trading Quentin and Danks. U up for that? Absolutely. I want those guys gone if Buehrle leaves. This team isn't good enough to keep together.
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 17, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) I know this is a little detail, but why did you say 190+? He's gotten over 200 every single year, and he is presumably going to do it again this season. Allowing for a dropoff over the next 2 years. Should have said 180+ innings.
  5. Was a typical Buehrle year. Given what he means to the fan base and the outlook for the pitching staff over the next 2 years his 190+ innings would be a nice stabilizer as they rebuild the staff. 2y/$20M?
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 09:13 PM) No we're not...just have far too many players not playing to their talent level. No, we are outmanned.
  7. One of my favorite things about this outfit is there are always conflicting stories about what's going on.
  8. QUOTE (MAX @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 08:59 PM) I have found this to be true: When a man is in the midst of a situation in which he develops negative habits, he will continue to spiral downward, strengthening those negative habits until he removes himself from that situation for an extended period of time. Dunn needs to not play more than anyone right now. Not play more and continue on his downward spiral. He's actually looked pretty good tonight. I think "extended period of time" is very subjective and since he has been on the bench most of August and September, maybe that is the time he needed.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 08:36 PM) I'll interpret that to mean that no, you really know nothing about baseball. I can't change what you think. I will say, I don't know if you could distinguish someone who knows the game from someone who does not, after a statement like this.
  10. So the M&M guy travels to another city, gets front row seats behind home plate watches about 40 pitches and leaves with a female in the third inning. Hell of a statement game for him.
  11. With the exception of the Orioles, Twins, and Mariners, the Sox are just outgunned when they take the field.
  12. I think the M&M guy broke loose with that female. If so, pretty good foresight on his part.
  13. Humber, I don't know. Next year's rotation might be down to 8-deep.
  14. Dunn actually fouling off a 96 mph fastball before popping out on 95 mph fastball. Progress.
  15. M&M guy left with female. I liked Kauffman (at least on TV) better before the renovations. Too many ads. Hyvee, come on.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 07:55 PM) OK. One slight problem, its against the rules. Good night. Maybe his mind was hurt back then too.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) Not in his current state. It defeats any purpose. He should have been DL'd in June then.
  18. QUOTE (MAX @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 07:47 PM) Stop acting naive. Its annoying. If you aren't acting, then we may as well all put you on ignore, because this isn't at all complicated. Plain and simple, he needs to play. More than anyone else on this roster.
