  1. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 09:40 PM) for a reliever to be one of the worst pitchers in baseball over the course of 1 week means absolutely nothing Only wins and losses, but yeah nothing...Boone's now allowed at least one run in 6 straight outings.
  2. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 09:34 PM) Swish needs to actually deliver with the worm one of these days.
  3. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 09:22 PM) Floyd has been fine. The same Gavin who has an ERA of 4.85 in his last 5 starts? What?
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 03:28 AM) When is the last time KW really made a big move at the actual July trade deadline..........Never, he got Garcia in June. KW does alot of talking and gives the old well I tried speech! I don't know, Everett and Alomar got plenty of people excited. And the reacquisition of Everett brought us a World Series a year later.
  5. Uribe's hitting .314 in his new role. I don't see the need to replace him.
  6. Yeah, there were tons of rumors floating around that he was coming here. Which makes you wonder where they came from, considering he seems to be hated by management here.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 08:27 PM) We are #8 in MLB in batting average with RISP and tied for #3 in OPS with RISP. Our problem is we're 2nd to last in BA and OPS with RISP and 2 outs. When you add those together, we're basically at the top of the league in batting with RISP and 0 or 1 out. When there's 2 outs though, the batters just seem to freeze up completely. Odd indeed. We must be hitting at an absolutely ridiculous rate with less than 2 outs to have those kind of splits. .591 OPS with RISP and 2 outs...Oh man.
  8. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 09:19 PM) Don't the Sox have above average offensive numbers in the AL this season compared to other teams (well not in BA, but in OBP, RISP and HR's)? Yeah, I think we're decently near the top. I believe 5th in the AL in runs. Far from the problem though. We still have no approach against certain types of pitchers(See: soft tossing lefties, pitchers we've never seen before), and that is totally on the coaching staff. We've shown the ability to score in bunches, but it's just a wonder to me why we can't do it all the time. We're going to need some consistency down the stretch. Also, I'm not sure, but I thought we were near dead last in RISP average. Like I said, I'm not sure, but if someone has the numbers on them, I'd like to see them.
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) What big move do the Sox really need? That's what I can't figure out right now. I see slight upgrades you could make all over the roster, but they involve about adding 2-4 players to the roster, and none of them would see a significant amount of playing time down the stretch. Add a 6th starter, add a good bat or two to the bench, and shore up the bullpen a bit. What else can be done? How about at the coaching level? Like finally finding a replacement for Greg Walker. That would be a good start. Other than that, we're pretty good at just about every position, except for first base. If PK doesn't pick it up in the next week, we can pray to the gods to defy the odds and trade the untradeable.
  10. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 11:37 AM) It needs more LeBatard. Lebatard is the best. I love both Tony and Wilbon, but can't wait until one of them has to leave so LeBatard has to take over.
  11. QUOTE (wilmot825 @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 10:42 PM) "Miller LIIIIIITE, HEy Beer Dude." The guy with the frog voice, he is the best ever Yep. BEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRR HEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRE.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 18, 2008 -> 06:46 PM) How do you know I am of the opinion you should never boo a hometown player? I wouldn't do it. wat
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 18, 2008 -> 01:27 PM) 300 was awful. Terrible of epic proportions. It was like a cartoon of itself, without knowing how silly it was. Why would you want another one? .......No.
  14. The true answer to the legendary and once prominent debate between Cubs and Sox fans.
  15. Carlos with the number 10 webgem of the first half.
  16. I was hoping for it to go even longer too.
  17. I hear Dan Uggla has been traded to an AL team.
  18. e3 Round-up. Not my words, but a good summary. Sony: Microsoft: Nintendo:
  19. I love watching him play, but I don't think it's a feel good story when he was a hardcore druggy. That's something he brought upon himself. Sorry.
  20. I believe that is the full list, they said 84 songs today at Microsoft's e3 presser. Also said it's a timed 360 exclusive, and will include all the Rock Band 1 songs as well, and all the downloadable content too, it's like 200 or 300 some songs.
  21. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) The team with the better record of the 2 gets home field advantage? Which would likely give an unfair advantage to the weaker league, in this era that of course being the NL. Makes no sense. I think League inter-league record would be next in line. If they refined the All Star selection system, I would love to keep it how it is, even if it's not the best system.
