  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 02:58 AM) seriously, f*** this, I would have rather lost so that way atleast Soxtalk was exploding...SEASON'S OVER, WTFOMG It's amazing how much quieter it really is when the Sox win. If the score were reversed, you would think you would probably have to be sent to the hospital and treated for a poisoning with how much venom is thrown around here. Apparently you weren't around for two nights ago. Soxtalk is always loud, regardless of what happens.
  2. "Meanwhile, with covers of Madden NFL 09 set to ship nationwide next Tuesday, IGN has learned that EA intends to produce a new cover of the game with Favre in a Jets uniform. The cover will not likely be ready for the launch date. It is unknown yet whether EA will sell the cover separately, release a separate edition of the game, or offer the cover to fans free of charge."
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 6, 2008 -> 11:30 PM) Actually it would be 15 extra outs. Innings 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14. I was never great in math. Point still holds.
  4. QUOTE (YASNY @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 12:13 AM) Oh c'mon. The guy caught 14 innings last night. Well boo hoo, a whole extra 15 outs. We could use his bat in the line-up. Maybe not as we do own Verlander, but he would certainly help things along. I guess we'll see but something tells me if we asked AJP if he wanted to play, he'd say yes.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 6, 2008 -> 11:58 PM) How many innings out of 14 did he play last night? 14, meanwhile he has 11 hits out of 32 chances against Verlander. This is a stupid line-up versus a guy that we usually have on a leash. Hopefully we don't let him off it.
  6. How the hell could you not play AJP tonight?
  7. Yeah, last night was a good crowd. I'll see if I can make it again.
  8. QUOTE (almagest @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 07:41 PM) He already played here once, and wasn't very good. Plus he had some not-nice things to say about the franchise IIRC. I'd probably pass. That was Howry. Or both, but I'm pretty sure it was Howry.
  9. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 08:14 PM) Fisk being our number 2? I would say Eddie Collins, Nellie Fox, Luke Appling, Ed Walsh, and Shoeless Joe(in his 5 seasons) would be better choices.
  10. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 07:42 PM) I'd say Carrasco has been impressive since being recalled. I don't know how you couldn't. 3.21 ERA in 8 games(4 of those >1IP)
  11. Weird, I had had never heard of Mojo, but I just stumbled upon it today. I noticed Carlos Quentin's good looking mug on TV, so I stopped. It was an apparently older show following 6 D-Back's paths to the pros. One of the others was Chris Young. Anyways, apparently it's a series, 30 minutes each. I might have to check out the other episodes.
  12. Basically Activision merged with Vivendi-Blizzard awhile back and now Activision doesn't feel like publishing any of Vivendi's titles. So despite being essentially GB3, having a big budget, and being basically done, it is in limbo right now. They could try to find another publisher, but in the very least it doesn't look like it's going to be out this year.
  13. What a moron. With a back-court of Legion, Smith, and McCamey, there's a good chance of a NCAA birth if not more, even with their weak frontcout. Now, not so much, especially with Meacham having to start the first month+.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 04:33 AM) I think that if we were to bench Swish in favor of Konerko it would probably change nothing if they both played just as they are now. If Swish struggles for the next series or two, Paul deserves another extended chance because Swish has hardly outproduced him previously this season. As bad as Swish has been, Konerko isn't even on his level, which says just ho bad Paulie has been.
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:24 PM) I look forward to Hawk ejaculating during the game tonight. "Where will he play?" Hawk redeemed.
  16. There is absolutely no reason why the Griffey deal wouldn't go through.
  17. Maybe we can get in on that.
  18. "Tampa Bay" Man what a great headline that would make.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) Mays had retired by the time McCovey hit #500. I glanced at the 500 homer list, and I don't think it has ever been done. Pretty sure Palmeiro and Sosa played together in their last years.
  20. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) Why would BA be consider and OH/DH type? The slash is an or, not an and.
  21. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 07:18 PM) Apparently (taken WSI) Rogers said that the talks have cooled for Lannan and now Hanrahan is more of a possibility. I'm sorry, I don't trust Rogers' source, I don't know his reputation, but I have never heard him give good inside scoop ever. Sounds to me like he just misheard the name, and is looking for an excuse to cover it.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) Doubt it. All sources have said some insignificant minor leaguers to the Reds so far, which is what we can hope for. Even Reds fans dont see much value in Junior. If you can think of a playoff team that needs a LH hitting corner OF'er then maybe there is someone else involved. Oh I know, hence my request for some divine intervention here.
