  1. Why would anyone in their right mind want Owens? He is beyond brutal. His 7 at bats already are way way too much.
  2. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) Pathetic display of execution tonight. 0-4 in bunt attempts, are you serious? I dont know why Ozzie didn't let Alexie swing that bat with that dude being so wild. Why give up an out when you have 3 cracks to win the game. Oh well- they deserved to lose that game. 0-5 vs the Jays this year, not good. At least Alexei is usually capable of putting a bunt down. Virtually no one else on this roster is, and it's frightening that it has been 5 years and still Ozzie does not realize this. OK, I get it, they are Major Leaguers and should be able to do the simple things. However, we just can't, no matter how many times we try. Let's play to our strengths and stop giving up outs.
  3. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 07:20 PM) Really? Did not hear that. Have any link for it? http://splashpage.mtv.com/2008/09/08/exclu...aptain-america/
  4. Anyone see that Will Smith was offered the part of Captain America?
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 05:57 PM) The Jays are hot, but wow, it'd sure be nice to have a 3.5 game lead after today. I was thinking 4.0...
  6. A little fun before a black hole swallows us all tonight.
  7. Original is much better: http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/189/1218062796760xd1.jpg
  8. Congrats on giving up the 250,000 HR ever. And Kudos to Sheffield for hitting it.
  9. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 10:50 PM) Thought I should mention Jessie Rogers was just on the Score, and they played a soundclip of Paul Konerko basically laying into him about how dumb he was for thinking Dye should have caught the ball. Steve Stone also layed into Rogers pretty hard, along with both B&B. Just thought I would throw that out there. Wait, Rogers said Dye should have or shouldn't have caught the ball?
  10. QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) Hard to argue with this lineup, but thematically, there is no one from the team that actually won a world series in the past 100 years. I'm not certain where anyone would play, but that seems odd. Shoeless Joe did.
  11. I don't think anyone is close to Anaheim though maybe their pillow of a lead will cost them later. I believe we're part of the second tier along with Boston and TB with Minny being just a nudge below that.
  12. Nice job Liney. Let's get him back to 100% come playoffs.
  13. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 08:34 PM) why are you guys blasting linebrink? he walked the guy that he probably should have struck out, and then got a DP ball that just happened to sneak through because of the hit and run His stuff isn't what it was.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 08:29 PM) In the 5th inning, Dye made the right play. In the 8th, that's a bonehead play. Yep, especially with the way our offense has looked today, and of course the Angels bullpen. Did anyone expect to score within the next six outs? We needed to hope to extend the game and scrape a run out, a la last night.
  15. Who do you want there? We need to replace a bat like CQ's with one like Griffey can hopefully provide us with.
  16. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 4, 2008 -> 05:53 AM) I am testing google chrome at work. It works with our microsoft based intranet a lot better than Firefox. It is a simple browser with some elegance to it. So far for a beta pretty stable. It only died once. Soxtalk looks good in it. I like it except for the lack of a home button initially and also my start bar cannot be pulled up when the browser is maximized. That definitely needs to be fixed. I have a hover over start bar, not sure what it does to normal ones.
  17. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Sep 4, 2008 -> 03:58 AM) Don't know where to put this since there's no gamethread for tomorrow yet, but... NO WEAVER TOMORROW!!! He got paper cuts in Comerica hahaha! Thanks Kitties! Link Wow. Awesome news.
  18. Marlins had 584 people at their game today.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 11:57 PM) So Zambrano missed his MRI today? Also, sounds like Harden is injured more than they've said. Cubs lying about the severity of injuries to their starting pitchers? **SHOCKER**
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 06:36 PM) I just threw up in my mouth. This is shades of bringing in Hermanson in the World Series after not pitching in months. He pitched down the stretch, he just wasn't very good at that point.
