  1. either that, or a breathalyzer for his keyboard. It locks it up when he's too drunk to make a coherent point
  2. Is your avatar titled "Naked Santa, the Sox fan?" I'm gonna go look at DonkeyKonerko's for a while to get that one out of my mind...
  3. was that his attitude last year when KC was doing great?

who were those guys that got those hits? I know Grace lead-off the inning. And there was a guy from ND that got one of the big hits... anybody remember?

    He definitely did better than Sabathia who just got shelled. Here's Cleveland's line for the night: C Sabathia 1 4 3 3 0 0 0 21-13 27.00 V Martinez C 0 for 1 R Belliard 2B 0 for 1, K M Lawton CF 1 for 2, K there other pitcher didn't get in the game... I swear... Cleveland was practically trying to give homefield away...
  6. the hole in our line-up stems not from the OF, but from the catcher position. I'd rather see the team try to fill that spot than to get a CF. Sure he isn't an all-star, but Rowand's been pretty good for us in CF. Of course Beltran would be a wonderful addition to the team. However, I think Kendall could have a greater impact of the team since he would really shore up a weak spot in our line-up.
  7. Even with Johnson, it's still possible (maybe 50-60% likely) that the BoSox don't even make the playoffs, making this all null and void. It's the same if he goes to Anaheim. You'd think the three AL teams he'd go to are the Yankees, Sox, or Twins. The Yankees are a shoe-in and if he goes to the Sox or Twins, he tips the scales in that teams favor for a virtual play-off lock. Anaheim and Boston both seem like a risk for not even making the playoffs.
  8. I'm sure Cito Gaston is still looking for a job...

and those guys from the Diamonbacks...

Sounds like we got Jay Mariotti here...
  11. Money? How does trading away young prospects for an expensive guy who is worse at a position than the guy we have, make any sense? Getting Nomar doesn't add up one bit.
  12. Seriously, if we have the prospects to pry RJ away from Arizona, why wouldn't we keep him? Maybe they had the wrong Chicago team. Nomar adds no value to this team, so I don't think it's a deal that KW would make.
  13. Nope. Sorry. This is my first and only board.
  14. oh man, all this gong talk has got me thinking... maybe SNL should redo the Will Farrel/Christopher Walkin/Blue Oyster Cult sketch... "I've got a fever! And the only prescription... is more gong!"
  15. Exactly. They're gonna have to give a major leaguer and pay half his salary to get the Diamondbacks talking.

they're cheap, man. Just go to tigerdirect. I got a wireless 802.11g for like $20. Trust me, it's worth it. You're going to want one sooner or later.
  17. He just said he'd waive it for a contender. As I understand the process, there's probably a waiver form that the player has to sign that gets submitted with the trade paper-work to the league office. I'm sure he didn't just sign a blank one so that Arizona can trade him wherever.

Were they turned to stone by his ugly ERA?
  19. I thought the Loop's frequency was 97.9?

Sure it is! It gets used all the time. Look it up Winningest = has the most wins
  21. don't even get me started on imported branded beer... I wonder if any Latin Americans actually drink Dos Equis or Corona...

He's the second winningest Mexican born pitcher and he plays in a big market. He is pretty popular. I wonder if I can order a Konerko jersey...
  23. If we have to give up Borchard, Munoz, and Rauch for RJ, I say so be it.
  24. I'd rather see Joe Table AND Jason Kendall on this team, than either of those individuals. However, I wouldn't complain if we got any of those 3 scenarios.
  25. If Colangelo doesn't want to send him to the Yankees and wants to trade him, I think he's going to have to pick up some salary.
