QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 12:41 PM) what would you have called our old bullpen? the Kansas City Royal's bullpen.

QUOTE(joeynach @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 10:21 AM) the best way to get a lights out closer is to make one, eye of gossage and toe of sutter?

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 10:17 AM) Does it worry anybody else that Bukvich is also a former Royal pitcher?

Dye for Abreu?
Well, at least we know that Abreu doesn't upgrade our RF defense. Anybody see that brilliant play he made in last night's game?

A need to post more. because...
Did the force tell you about this trade?

Some good news
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) It probably has something to do with him being young, good and he fills a glaring need (mainly the need for a good, young player). Plus he's perpetually available since the D-Rays have 7 outfielders as is (even though he's probably not available at all and never has been). is he worth Dye, Fields, and Broadway as was posited?

why the hell do we want Crawford?

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 01:32 PM) If they fired Coop tomorrow I wouldn't argue either. We have reached blow it up time. I think coop's problem is he has waaaaay too much on his plate at the moment.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 01:28 PM) Teams would be smart just to start their bullpen against us. Score some runs, then put the starter in ala the Royals a few years back. I think that was the Devil Rays under Lou Piniella

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 01:27 PM) I really admire Kenny for putting this bullpen together. Never before has a collection of guys that can not get an out been collected so closely together. this has to be every bit as statistically amazing as the 2005 bullpen

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 01:15 PM) Aardsma for Prinz will be one of them I would assume. Beyond that, who knows. I'm hoping we DL MacDougal and call up Vasquez as well and maybe send Day back down where he belongs and call up Bukvich. Line change, eh? I like it.

I can't blame Ozzie anymore....this is ALL on Kenny
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 11:45 AM) The way they do peripheral ERA is they take your eqERA, EqH9, EqBB9, EqSO9, and EqHR9, which are your projected HR's allowed/9, projected K's/9, projected BB's/9, projected hits/9, and then projected ERA based on all those other stats. The k and bb per 9 numbers are just taken directly out of the pitchers real stats since there is no ballpark affect for those 2 things, but they take into account the ballparks you pitched in and use a formula to devise what your home run, hits, and thus era numbers would be had you pitched in a exactly neutral setting every time you threw a pitch to the plate. (hence the Eq abbreviation) (1.000 is neutral, .999 or less is pitcher friendly, 1.001 or more is hitter friendly) So to be fair, our pitchers will always seem to be "a bit lucky" since they pitch half their games in a ballpark so friendly to hitters, but those peripheral to real ERA splits for our pen in 2005 were nothing like I have ever seen, and nothing like guys who look at this stuff for their job have even ever seen. Oh and a random correction, we are only 0 for our last 47 against bullpens. Thanks! I appreciate it. Yeah, that 2005 bullpen was historically amazing. I doubt we'll ever live to see anything quite like that again.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 01:01 PM) I love Danks. No matter how s***ty his stuff/control is, he battles, gets big outs, and gives us a chance. He's a grinder.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 12:53 PM) Ozzie will give him every chance to get the win, which is fine. Does it even matter? This is what happens when you shut down after 3 innings. True. we lose this game no matter what at this point. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 12:53 PM) I love when Hawk disappears from the broadcast for long periods of time. Sometimes I think it is because DJ secretly unplugged his microphone.
