QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 03:26 PM) No. You can access the games if you pay the $15 or so for MLB.com's Gameday Audio. If you're at a computer during a lot of games, it's worth it. Especially with Stoney. I'll be in CA all summer, so I thought about getting that. Is it $15 for the whole summer? -

Pittsburgh ties it up with the Cubs. -
I'll add a point to my original post. I think the FutureSox section is excellent. I don't know anywhere else I can get reliable information on Sox farm hands and there are a number of posters that really have their pulse on the minor league system. They do great work in general.

I come here because the discussion of the White Sox is as intelligent as you will find. I think the moderators generally do an excellent job of keeping the posters in line. The posters are all pretty good at self-policing.

Derek Anderson is Rex Grossman part 2. I'm not sure why we would give away a 1st and 3rd when we have the same player already on our roster.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 23, 2007 -> 11:08 PM) I'm pretty sure they'd bid to their own goal line almost every time. 99 yard drives are hard to make and if they fail put the other team in a great position to win. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 23, 2007 -> 07:28 PM) Is there a well-reasoned argument against college football's OT somewhere on the internet? I'm a fan of the overtime, mainly because it seems aesthetically pleasing, but I'd like to see the point-of-view of those who don't like it... I hate it because college OT is almost a completely different game from football with such a short field. Here's my idea for a good over time that removes the "coin toss" element: Each team bids on where they'll start the ball. The most disadvantageous bid gets the ball and sudden death play ensues. -
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 06:02 PM) It's a monster, so I'm gonna go with complete suckfest. Although it might rake at the box office. I'm a huge JJ Abrams fan, so I'm thinking this one could be really good.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 04:49 PM) I've been hearing so much about this trailer. Finally it's been uploaded. Looks sooooooooo awesome. Brilliant marketing idea too. More links: http://www.ethanhaaswasright.com/ http://ethanhaaswaswrong.blogspot.com/ I have no idea what these links are, if anything. I just saw on another message board that they might have to do with the movie. ******WARNING SPOILER/PUZZLE SOLUTIONS BELOW********* To solve http://www.ethanhaaswasright.com/ 1) first follow the patterns on the sphere. This unlocks a video. 2) put your mouse of the stars. one shows a pattern. this pattern is the alphabet. Figure out how to spell "HAAS". Put "HA" on the inner ring and find "AS" on the outer ring. This unlocks another video. 3) This is a game of pegged. A lit peg hops other lit pegs and is placed in an unlit peg. The hopped peg is removed. You must finish with exactly 1 lit peg. This unlocks another video. 4) Maninpulate the green dots into the gear like areas. You unlock another video. 5) Use the alphabet to spell out "THEBEGINNINGISTHEEND" . Unlock video... get added to a mailing list for the next clue (August 1st). QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 05:59 PM) I remember seeing this preview before Transformers had started. It was called something like Big Robot when I saw it. Looks alright. Nope. "Bad Robot Productions" is JJ Abrams's production company. This company and Abrams are responsible for Joy Ride, Alias, Lost, Six Degrees, What About Brian and others.

The most important question is largely unanswered here: what the hell are we going to do to fix the bullpen?
-
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 04:37 PM) that's a sad, but probably true statement. Why is it sad? It's called "hedging your bets". Actually, it isn't. It's called "filling a position of need with a star-level veteran."

OK, here is what I would do: take every AAA or scrub player right now and make them a full time starter. Take the remainder of our roster and trade it for prospects or other teams' scrub players who can fill in the holes. We're golden.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 11:11 AM) Whoa....I'm leaving for a BBQ in 45 minutes, if Buehrle isn't signed...I revolt. How is the revolt going?

Since Pods's return, we have played the Cubs, the D-Rays, and the Royals. While the 5-3 mark in games he's played since returning is nice, perhaps the cailber of the opposition should be considered?

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 03:43 PM) First of all...who here remembers the shot of one Bill Cartwright? That is now the 2nd ugliest shot to ever be in the NBA. And yet, he had a 15 year career and won three rings. I have my doubts Noah can aspire to as lofty a ceiling as Cartwright. Cartwright was a superior scorer in college and I suspect he will be a superior scorer in the pros in the end. I appreciate the effort... I didn't expect a LeBron, Kobe, or Wade. Our need is "low-post scorer" not "ass-clown". If he's going to be a rich, NBA playin' assclown, I hope he's a good one. Although my previous comment on needing a low-post scorer stands. I hope you're right!

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) He is far from untalented. He may be making a fool of himself, but he likes to be entertaining and he likes to have fun. I have no problem with that at all. I don't know why you do or why you hate him so. This is all very strange to me. Name me an NBA skill or talent he possesses?
-
I cite from UrbanDictionary: 1. From video 1 and 2, he must either be drunk or stupid and is definitely making a fool of himself. 2. Maybe those weren't serious attempts at anything, but he definitely makes a complete fool of himself. For that I posit the following picture as Exibit A: 3. I think from a basketball perspective, "untalented schmuck" pretty much fits the bill.
