Road Trip
QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 11:11 AM) I was just listening to the Score and they said The Indians series this week vs the Angels was moved to Miller Park. They did not say but if they weather does not improve I am thinking there is a possiblilty The Sox could be playing there this weekend vs the Indians they would be like another three home games for the Sox. I can't believe that with Reinsdorf's eye to the bottom-line that he'd seriously let this happen.

Postgame Thread 4/8
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 06:58 PM) Danks was a freaking stud, he got by one one pitch for the first few innings, and once his change and curve were hitting the strike zone, he was inducing some horrible swings. You gotta love seeing why KW wanted this kid over BMAC, he got alot of good ground balls and showed great makeup for a young kid. He was fooling some of the best contact hitters in the game. Secondly AAArdsma has really impressed the hell out of me. There is no doubt right now we fleeced the cubs for this kid. His pitches have so much movement on them its ridiculous. The pen is looking good early. The offense will come around with a little more warmth, im not worried. I feel a ton better about this team than I did a week into last season. It's going to be a dogfight to win the Central (the top 4 teams are all so good that 90 wins might make the playoffs), but we definitely have the pen and boppers to be players. Hopefully our "grindliciousness" (G to the R to the IND-L-I-C-I-O-U-S) that we've seen it bits holds on and the veteran starters turn it on. The question marks/variables/determinants that decide if we make the playoffs or not are the relative success of Contreras, Garland, and Buehrle. I have faith that the rest of the team will hold up its end of the bargain.

I read this bit on another board and I thought I heard someone on a sports radio channel discussing it over the weekend. True or false?

Postgame Thread 4/8
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 03:03 PM) Exactly. The first 3 innings we gave good AB's too I thought, so I was doing fine with it. But after the 3 run homer in the top of the 4th, we just quit until he left and Uribe hit the blast to get us within 2. Definitely. It's like the line-up just quits against Santana and Sabbathia. Maybe Ozzie will try something really unconventional next time: the gindz0rs line-up: no boppers, go something ridiculous like: Pods Erstad (1B) Iguchi AJ Mackowiak (RF) Crede Ozuna (DH) Uribe Anderson It cannot be any worse than the last 5 or 10 outings we've seen against those two.

QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 03:56 PM) I THOUGHT IT WAS TIME TO SELL THE TEAM BECAUSE WE ARE GOING TO NEED TO GET SOMETHING GOOD FOR OUR PLAYERS LIKE KONERKO AND MARK AND THOME AND DYE AND CREDE... AND WELL, EVERYONE BECAUSE IT IS A HORRIBLE TEAM AND WE NEED TO FIRE ALL PEOPLE INVOVLED BECAUSE WE HAVE LOST 2 GAMES TO START THE SEASON. Is Contreras Done?
QUOTE(shoota @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 01:53 PM) I'm on record saying Buehrle or Garland should have been the Opening Day starter. I did not forecast Contreras's horrible line, but am willing to assume Buehrle or JG would have pitched better. If Buehrle pitches on Opening Day, he likely doesn't get hit with a liner off his pitching arm. Shoota = 1; Guillen = 0; Ozney = still hustlin' for that 250k+ salary. Two of the three reasons I started this thread asking if Contreras is done are due to his archaic age and recent injury. Buehrle has neither of those characteristics, therefore no thread asking if his career is over. Yeah, maybe Buehrle takes a shot in the noggin instead and dies on the field. You don't know. If that happens, I'm sure you're saying he should have put Garland out there instead.

Is Contreras Done?
QUOTE(shoota @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 09:28 AM) Because I'm assuming Buehrle would have given up less than 8 runs in 1+ innings. So you knew that Contreras would give up 8 runs in 1+ innings?
-
Is Contreras Done?
I dunno. Tune in this week for this and other exciting revelations on "As the Sox Turn"! EDIT: Also, why should Buehrle have been the Opening Day starter? I'm not saying I necessarily disagree, I just think you should justify such a bold statement.

LOST! thread
I thought the funniest part of the episode was the gratuitous fall in the mud that Kate and Juliet took running away from the monster.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
What's the status on Buehrle? And is there any chance Masset takes his spot after this ballsy performance?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 12:37 PM) So our contenders for Mark's spot: Masset Floyd Haeger who comes out on top? My vote goes to Haeger. Not that I care, but won't there be an outcry for Russel?
