QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 06:25 PM) stealing signs again I see so did we let the O's use the magic camera the other day?

QUOTE(brijames @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 06:25 PM) Damn this team makes it look so easy at times. And this inning is a prime example why Sox fans have become so spoiled. This game is not that easy. Don't worry, Garland is always good to make holding a lead this size look hard.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 4, 2006 -> 07:08 PM) Starter = more money, less weekly work, less pressure (I would say) I bet he'd do anything to be a starter again. As a rule, starters are also way more valuable to a team: 200 IP vs. 70 IP. If Cotts can stretch himself out, it might not be such a bad thing to try to make him into a starter. However, I think our experiences from 2004 would indicate otherwise for Mr. Cotts.

They lost?!?!? OPAH!

QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 11:41 AM) For the record I came from there as well. Well, we're glad you guys came. Adds a nice little "fiestiness" to the board. Hopefully everyone enjoys the give and take that this season has provided us the opportunity for.

QUOTE(holly wiggins @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 11:04 AM) So even though Sean Tracey says HE wants to play for Ozzie after that, this guy doesn't? Cool. Let him go find a World Series ring somewhere else. maybe he can by a raffle ticket next time he is at the Cell.

QUOTE(holly wiggins @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 10:58 AM) I have thought for a long time that Dusty Baker will not return to the Cubs after the All-Star break. I do think that the two crosstown series were musts for him -- he had to win at least one of them in order to have a shot at finishing out the season and his contract. That didn't happen. We'll see ... Why is failing to win 2 out of 3 games in either of two series against the team on the other side of town (which in the scheme of 162 games, just aren't that important) a determining factor in the Cubs deciding to allow Baker to finish his contract, than say, being 25 games under 500? If Cubs management wants to keep Baker, then that's what they're going to do. If they want to fire him, they have plenty of justification to do so already, based on W-L, without accounting for 6 games against the Sox.
-
Honestly, even if the Cubs fire Baker and hire a guy like Pinella, there will be no difference until their front office makes much better personnel decisions. Baker is the least of the Cubs' problems.

The guy who "threw" the ball back on the field

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) No. Unless someone threw themself onto the field. It really depends on how much coverage the incident receives in the media. Even now, I haven't seen any replays of how much or what exactly was thrown onto the field. On the way home I was flipping between radio stations and caught a gem from Bruce Levine. In his mind, "typical Sox fans" were responsible for throwing trash on the field following AJ's HR. Mongo McMichaels (who I actually enjoy listening) justly ripped him. I don't know how that scenario makes sense, but Levine was obviously upset his team wet themselves. you're kidding about Levine, right? That's hilarious. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) And was throwing strikes this inning. Lets hope that Garland decides to throw strikes. Pep talk from Cooper: When you are a pitcher that doesnt strike a lot of hitters out, and rely on a sinker you need to pitch ahead so they can pound said sinker into the ground. Hence why the 4 men that surround you are on the infield. Come on big Jon pitch ahead stay ahead. Pep Talk from ozzie: f***ING THROW STRIKES GODDAMN IT. 3 weeks ago it would have been quit pitching like a *** -

I've never been so certain something terrible would happen when a pitcher takes the mound as 2006 Garland. Except for maybe 2006 Garcia. -
QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) how many pitches did politte get off before we got walked off? maybe one. games like this are gonna cost us the division.
