AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ May 6, 2006 -> 09:26 PM) Javy is looking really solid easily the best fifth starter in the game. In reality, he's becoime our 3rd starter. Still, I doubt there's a better 3rd starter in baseball.

Is D Lee that important
QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ May 4, 2006 -> 11:23 PM) I was at the Game tonight and half of the team looked like they wanted to be somewhere else other half was arguing with Bill Miller on pitches that were strikes. And the Dbacks are playing much better. A Dusty Baker team mailing it in? I've never seen that before!

Contreras named AL Pitcher of the Month
QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 5, 2006 -> 08:48 AM) Based off the Cy Young Predictor: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/features/cy Contreras is currently the best pitcher in the bigs. Holy cow, he's blowing away Mussina (second place), too.

Do we rely too much on homeruns again
You play smallball when you have to... when your offense is in a slump and you need to start something or if you just need to scratch out a run for a victory (see the nice end to the last game in Anaheim) . I think this team has done the smallball when it's had to, but that just really hasn't been too necessary. Think about this, here are our losses for the season: 2-8 3-4 7-11 3-4 7-13 3-4 1-5 1-7 While we've had 3, 3-4 losses (obviously, 1 run games), the other games we have lost we just haven't really been in. I'd say don't worry about the small ball stuff. We're showing that this team can totally mash the ball and I think that we know that we can do the small stuff when we need to. I'd be more worried about our bullpen coming around than relying too much on homeruns, espeically considering that we "relied" on homeruns last season.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#
I know we have our little chat-crew Boone Logan fanclub, but I'm starting to think that it might be time for Ozzie to take Logan a bit more seriously. He's done pretty good in his last few appearances. I think it's about time to try him in a set-up position.

Booing Jim Thome
Weren't the Cubs interested in signing Thome when he was a free agent? Had he been on the 2003 team, they probably win the World Series. I just sent a message to one of my friends who was a Phillies fan. He says that both the Phillies and Cleveland extended Thome an offer, but that Philadelphia offer was significantly better in terms of base salary and years. Looks like Cleveland offered $60 million for 5 years, but Philly offered a monster $87.5 million for 6 year contract, so the contract was really an order of magnitude larger from Philly. Add to that the fact that Cleveland wanted to start the youth movement and you get that it was a fairly mutual departure.

17-7
QUOTE(soxhawks @ May 1, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) I wouldnt say that, we were many peoples preseason pick to win the world series, and sure we are not getting the attention the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, and Albert Pujols are getting but almost everybody regards us as a legitimate top 3 team. Hell, most people respect us as the top team in baseball. I have no qualms about anything. The Tigers have a pretty good mix of youth, veterans, and a great manager. I don't think they're just going to fade away, unless some injuries hit.

Ozzie and the ASG
QUOTE(knightni @ May 1, 2006 -> 02:52 AM) I want him to not cough it up to the Mariners. I'd hate to hear your opinion of Vazquez, then. Should we send him to AAA?
-
Ozzie and the ASG
Almost more importantly, he gets to choose the starter for the game. The cool thing is, this should mark the 3rd White Sox ASG starter in 4 years!
-
Jermaine Dye
He's a considerable defensive improvement considering our previous right fielder.

Mario Williams to be #1 Pick
This is like passing on Michael Jordan for Sam Bowie...

AL Central Central
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:53 AM) I would bet that like 50% of the runs the Sox have given up were given up in like 20% of our games. Good guess. Actually, 41 out of the 80 runs against us have been scored in 4 games.

Here they come...

Top 10 Pitching Combinations
QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 05:40 PM) Spahn-Sain (1947 BOSN) Koufax-Drysdale (1963 LAD) McLain-Lolich (1968 DET) Ryan-Scott (1986 HOU) Maddux-Glavine (1995 ATL) Tudor-Andujar (1985 STL) Johnson-Moyer (1997 SEA) Palmer-Cuellar (1972 BAL) Morris-Petry (1984 DET) Clemens-Mussina (2000 NYY) I think that Johnson-Schilling (ARI 2001) deserve a spot on that list over either Johnson-Moyer or Clemens-Mussina.
