  1. son of a b****... no breaks for us.
  2. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) I wonder if he'd say that about Ezequiel Astacio if he were on our team? :puke
  3. and Hawk calls Anderson "good looking"
  4. QUOTE(Grindersrule @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 12:46 PM) Does anybody like Ozuna as DH while Thome sits? Pods in left, Gload back on the bench. I like that thought a lot. I'd like to see it once it a while. Nice DP, Paul.
  5. GOD DAMN SWEET BUNT! THAT'S 2005 MOJO!
  6. is it just me or does it seem like whereas we had about a play a game in 2005 that saved us, we have a play a game that kills us this year?
  7. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 09:22 AM) The bullpen will be addressed. I'm sure of it. Any insight on the guys out there they KW might make a move for?
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) Scott Rolen....what a brutal error. that was flat awful.
  9. So my question is, why is McCarthy still an untouchable? Let's look at the following: McCarthy does us no good right now coming out of the pen McCarthy might not be a capable staring pitcher for the Sox, both considering his own production and the possibility there is not spot in the starting rotation open for 2007 (all current starters are under contract for 2007) McCarthy is very highly regarded as a young pitcher Maybe I'm an idiot, but given these facts McCarthy appears to have a low value for the team for this season and next, assuming his poor play out of the bullpen (for whatever possible reason: no defined role, he's just a bad pitcher, etc.) continues. Considering these facts, wouldn't McCarthy be a valuable chip in landing a stud reliever or SS or CF? That's why I question if he is "untradeable"
  10. QUOTE(SnB @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 11:19 PM) So I'm assuming the matt thornton for president campaign has come to a screeching halt? we're settling for Governor of California.
  11. QUOTE(vandy125 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) Because I am a nerd, I compared the average runs scored and standard deviation for 2004, 2005, and 2006. The average runs at this point were: 2004 - 5.591836735 2005 - 4.403846154 2006 - 5.431372549 The standard deviation was: 2004 - 4.046183219 2005 - 2.144391823 2006 - 3.054536966 If I remember my math classes correctly, the standard deviation means that for example in 2004 66% of our games were within 4 runs of the average (5.59). So, in 2004 66% of the time we ranged between 1.59 and 9.59 runs. In 2005, we averaged 4.40 runs per game and most of the time we were within 2 runs of that average (a lot more consistent). This year we are pretty close to the same amount of runs per game as 2004, but we are not fluctuating as wildly. We are also not as consistent as 2005. So, this year is kind of falling between 2004 and 2005. I think deviation isn't applicable in comparing 2005 to the other seasons since the mean is much lower and there's the possiblity of scoring 0 runs. But yeah, it can definitely compare 2004 and 2006 and it shows we are way more consistent in run scoring this season than in 2004.
  12. Even if our offense resembles the 04 offense, that's ok since our pitching staff is light-years ahead of the 04 staff. Let's not forget that was the year when we went to a 4-man rotation for a while and Scott Schoenweis and Estebad Loiaza were half that.
  13. Outrageous statement which may be true: If Chris Young had played thus far in the season in place of Brian Anderson, he would be struggling just as bad, if not worse.
  14. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) Ya know, I might/will get grilled for saying this, but I think I want the Tigers to win a few while we play like s***. Maybe, just maybe, it'll wake up this team, and light a fire under their ass. WE KNOW this team is capable of winning 6-8 games in a row, or 12 of 15 or so. Maybe falling back a few games will get some urgency back into the life of this team. Let the grilling begin. But will it light a fire under their asses?
  15. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:28 PM) So, game 2 in a row of crap playing? 4 of last 6? Hmmm... lets go Ozzie, get 'em back on track. Let's do this! Let me revise that... our offense looks putrid.
  16. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) They wouldn't, which is why I didn't even address that stupid post. Sorry, it's just what I heard.
  17. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) So, anyone want to give me a quick update? I see its 2-0 and we have 5 hits, they have 4. But how have we played? Like dog crap.
  18. QUOTE(rudylaw @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:23 PM) For SS? yeah
  19. I heard on the Score that Nomar was on KW's radar?
  20. You must admit we do have a shortage of clutch hits and one-handed catches without Timo this year...
