Even if he wins appeal, it would go from 5 games or so to 3. I think he has to return, pitch to at least one batter, and then it starts the next day.

Totally reasonable post, and you know I hate their approach of “let’s just make you a reliever to start with”. Chris Sale is a unicorn, and I wish they’d stop trying to make everyone into him.
-
How did they bungle McDougal? All the games have been close since he was called up. If you’re saying it’s how he showed bad command, I think we all knew it was possible/likely with him and Hagen.
-
He’s definitely getting at least 5 games
-
Not that Martin was any good, but basically having 3 starters for the next month is grim.

No it’s my prediction

Urquidy tomorrow after the opener, Shane Smith next Wednesday against Cubs

Going to Sun-Times

Gonna predict Shane Smith starts next week

All the top draftees from college seem to be hitting poorly

One of the worst seasons I’ve ever seen

They kept showing that Vargas homer off Detroit. Seems like his shoulders were so much more balanced.

Two of the best offenses in baseball since ASB

Crochet getting hurt messed up the plans
-
Probably should be letting these young pitchers continue to work as starters in the minors
-
Yep, bad look to be short on pitching 10 days after the deadline.
-
I was so hoping for Vargas to be a core member on this team, same with Colson. I never believed in Peters being a long term piece.
-
Our worst pitchers of the second half were what cost them these two games (Martin, Fedde, Hudson)
-
Both around .190 since ASB. No matter what Getz did at the deadline, they won’t make the postseason if these two guys continue to be so bad.
-
Lot of trashing of the Reds, but they’re 14-10 since ASB now. 2.5 games better than the Sox.
-
If they get swept, they’re in a world of trouble. 1 of 3 is ok
-
That series sucked

Great game for Quero

You have to be kidding me. I hate this series
