If they can’t extend Robert and don’t get Castellanos, I’m all for Pillar being brought in

I’m not a fan either of Engel, but wouldn’t rule out that thought process

Clearly sox (and other teams) feel he can competently play RF.

If you get EE, the lineup is good enough to go with better D in RF with Engel or Garcia

I still believe in my theory of Boras leak to put pressure on the Cubs. Even Passan supposedly said today he thinks Cubs are more likely for Castellanos.

There are plenty of at bats to be had for Mazara if they get Castellanos

I think Bryant is long gone. Likely Braves if they miss on Donaldson.

Rumor is he will sign after they trade Bryant

Just to play devils advocate, this could easily be a leak by Boras to get Cubs to finalize his deal if some of the rumors are true about Castellanos eventually going back to the Cubs.

They clearly liked Mazara for a while, as they tried to get him twice before. They clearly liked Castellanos, as they tried in the past to get him. Maybe they jumped at chance to get Mazara, regardless of their plans, as they couldn’t believe the Rangers only wanted Walker instead of Walker as the 2nd piece.

But what chips are they throwing in besides money? They’re not blocking any of the core, haven’t tied up money to when the core guys would be free agents and haven’t had to deal Vaughn or Madrigal.

Just throwing this out as a hypothetical. What if they sign EE and Castellanos and then use Mazara and Collins to acquire a stud reliever?

Stoney has also alluded to this a few times.

He will get more than Moustakas

I always state this, but they’ve loved him since the draft and inquired on him last offseason

Or they think he can manage RF

I trust James big time. He was all over the Yogurt signing

Pence

Twins will get Price or Ray, IMO

Yes

Great, great job locking up Keuchel before Ryu picked.

This is one of the worst coached Bears team I’ve seen

He does a great job with minor league stuff during the season. You’re missing out on a lot if you don’t follow him.

Have you heard that Vaughn supposedly had a ton of triple digit outs last year?

Again, why sign Madrigal to an extension when you have no idea about the type of player he will be?
