I know it's a minor thing, but it's a little odd to me that Jay's deal hasn't been announced yet.

If it's between Phillies and Sox now, the only thing they can lose out on is money. They don't have to deal with the "preferred team", and they should have some advantage with his buddies on the roster. They've come this far, it's not the time to let money get in the way.

and if you were going to offer closer to 200 than 300, then why go to all the trouble with Alonso and Jay? Hopefully the Sox have a stronger offer they're still willing to make.

Our Chuck was on 670 an hour ago. Said he has a real good feeling that Manny will sign with the Sox if the Phillies don’t go crazy with money. He also said that he believes Manny would have no problem playing 3rd base.
