  1. I know this is common perception, but I also think they might be trying to clear up their glut of outfielders and free up money for a set-up man and LeMahieu
  2. And Rick should have been fired after 2016. Both organizations have been a joke the last 5 years or so with more bad news being made off the field than good news on the field.
  3. Yeah right....Rick and Gar ever being on the hot seat
  4. Would also be pissed that they let go of Avi if they just give his at bats to Delmonico
  5. Not saying you’re wrong, but this will kill the fan base.
  6. Thing is, Grandal and Brantley is probably going to help win you more games than Harper and Omar would have.
  7. Drafting has been subpar, IMO. The approach of taking polished college players has not provided the quick benefits that were expected (injuries have been crushing)
  8. If they get a top 5 pick again with a lot of the core rebuild guys up on the big league squad, the rebuild is screwed
  9. Yep go find a way to get Suarez and Haniger then by using all the payroll the Sox have to take on bad contracts and prospects.
  10. fathom replied to Quin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He can’t play CF defensively anymore.
  11. Basically if next major tweet is positive, everyone will say Bob was wrong. If next tweet is pessimistic, people will argue that Bob was right this time.
  12. We all knew the Nightengale cold water tweet was coming. This is less worrisome than expected, as at least there was no talk about year limit or opt-outs.
  13. I know it’s still early, but I do find it interesting the Sox haven’t been linked to any infielders besides Manny yet. Hahn has kind of given it away that they will have a new infielder next season (Yoan position question)
  14. Yes they can absolutely win without them. Sorry, didn’t see that specific question. I don’t think their prospects are good enough to compete down the road without some upper-tier players brought in to compliment them.
  15. Hahn has even said they’re going to have to acquire a premium 3B the next few years.
  16. Sounds like type of guy who has his own picture as his avatar
  17. I’ve been consistent the last two offseasons. Goal is to find a few core guys that will be on the team when they’re trying to contend 2020-2022. It’s why I wanted Yelich and JDM last offseason. I would hate to see resources spent on someone like Brantley.
  18. Then use that money to take on bad contracts to get core players (ie: Bailey and Suarez)
  19. I think Zobrist and Chatwood are the guys they try to get rid of (using prospects to move Chatwood).
  20. I find him entertaining actually. Their interview with Brian Anderson a few years ago was incredible.
  21. I just don’t get the end game here. Bowden mentioned today Abreu is available, so would the Sox be looking to move Palka to LF or 1B if they got Cruz?
  22. Not saying you’re wrong, but we live in that meathead twitter universe now and the Sox fan base is fragile enough as it is.
