There’s been a rumor for two weeks now that Manny visited the mystery team

Gregor clearly has someone in the Sox org that has told them they won’t go to 30 million per. We will see if he’s been lied to or not, but he’s pretty obviously not just making this up.

The beat writers must have got in a room and tried to see who could make the Sox chances sound worse. This one is incredibly pessimistic about Manny: https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/win-or-lose-on-machado-white-sox-will-always-have-eloy-jimenez/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

This is a really bad article, IMO https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/yoan-moncada-white-sox-manny-machado-eloy-jimenez/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

It’s hard to believe it’s true, but Gregor has been consistent with this. It would be sick if it’s accurate. You don’t spend 13 million on recruiting tools just to act cheap. I would gladly just take back every mediocre move they’ve made this offseason and just add that money to Manny.

So Chuck asked Renteria and Hahn if Eloy would bat 3, 4 or 5. Hahn was very cocky in saying offseason isn’t over and more players might be added.

Yep, said he was at a hockey tournament while offer dropped. Either that or 250 was never offered.

To the crowd?

Eyeballs means he knows something that he’s not supposed to share. Doesn’t mean something is done.

The music was so loud you couldn't hear if anyone was cheering or not.

Jeez, Honda with the "one more thing to take care of" was just cruel. This whole thing is so incredibly awkward.

yep, looks like someone asked him where's Manny when he was walking up the ramp.

my hope (1% chance) is that it gets announced in next few hours, as I don't know how he's going to do a live podcast at 7 tonight if that question is off the table.

So Yonder went from "Yeah, I welcome all questions" yesterday to not wanting to talk about it today.

Did Hahn specifically say they have an offer out to Manny? Don't believe he did, as that's not allowed by the CBA.

"we've done everything we can to try and get X player".....end of story

I'm not more or less optimistic about their chances after what Hahn said. I just hate the whole "progress cause we're at the table" crap they've said a few times of late.

There was always going to be a meltdown if they didn't get one of the two after the optimism they expressed at the Winter Meetings. Considering they've since added Jay and Alonso and the Yankees went after someone else, it will be incredibly ugly.

FWIW, Hahn mentioned a few times already "a couple of weeks" with regards to the premium talent making their decisions.

Yep, it's an infuriating comment. It doesn't mean much now, but they better not say something like that if the guys go elsewhere. This isn't college recruiting where you're a MAC team trying to get into the top 5 for a 5 star recruit. This is a money issue where every team has the same opportunity.

ugh
