Better have a good defensive squad behind him

Tell your source to tell Manny I will buy him a smash cake if he signs with the Sox.

Go to bed. Need you sharp and alert for your interrogating.

Nope was saying it before draft. Watched a lot of OSU and thought Madrigal wasn’t one of their two best hitters. Pretty sure others in the 2018 draft thread will back me up on this.

The other guys would have cost more in terms of salary and/or assets. They still have tons of flexibility to go after Bryce or Kluber.

Today’s moves actually make me think Dodgers are in on Bryce. Martin is a cheaper alternative than Cervelli and Realmuto, and they were also long rumored to like LeMahieu

Toronto chipping in a lot of money

Kelenic, India or Larnach for me

People will be shocked I say this, but way too many people discounting the Cubs and Dodgers for Bryce.

The Q trade?

He’s so getting traded for Starling Marte

Yep, which is why if they project Manny, Yoan, Timmy and Madrigal as 4 of their core players, then this is the most effective way to get them all on the same field.

As soon as Sox drafted Madrigal, we knew position changes were inevitable.

I actually think Anderson could be a superior CF. He shows a lot of quickness moving side to side.

Am I the only one that thinks Manny wants to play SS for the next 5 years or so to help his HOF chances?

Yes

I think if the Sox are dead set on moving Yoan to 3rd, then it makes sense. It’s not ideal, but it also gives them the best chance to fit Madrigal on the roster next year.

Actually encouraging stuff from Jack Curry, who's known as a very good Yankees source:

every story the last few weeks was that the Phillies preferred Manny

Also why you better be willing to pay a substantial amount to make the Yankees not want to come close to it.

Morosi also said that Manny hasn't even been given a formal contract from the Yankees yet.

Morosi was on the radio a few hours ago and said that he feels Manny will take any final offers back to the Yankees to see if they can compete with it, as will Harper with the Dodgers.

I'm guessing the players involved that Hahn never had conversations with were Brantley/Cruz/Moustakas.

Nothing like the GM signing his former client
