Of course it’s about the money if the Sox sign him. But saying that’s not even his concern right now is a good way to combat criticism if he does take the most money on the table.

I would say the narrative that he wants to determine fit and culture before discussing money is great for the Sox, IMO.

Morosi was just on mlb network and said he was told Manny has not had an official offer made yet by any of the 3 teams. Manny is waiting to get comfortable with fit and comfort of the teams before talking money.
