Yes, and he's maintained this whole time the Cubs aren't legit contenders for Harper due to money.

It's just pictures of him and Bryant hanging out together

Even I think that's good

oh great, he's going to pick the Padres cause they have Tatis Jr.

David Ross

The ironic thing is that I don't think getting Bryce, while having to move all their resources to free up space, would make the Cubs that much better. His awful defense would really hurt their run prevention.

it's more likely they have the same source as their comments were basically the same here and both were out in front of the Yu stuff last year.

yeah, that is something you don't say if your client is going to take the most money for a 100 loss team

Looks like barstool carl and Charles the Cat have the same source, as they both are saying the same

using car analogies instead

I'm seeing on twitter that Sherman said it would be a long-term deal that Harper is seeking

It wouldn't be, it would be something like 8/300 with an opt-out after 3 or 4 years. That gives him a lot of opportunities down the road he doesn't have right now, including playing for the Yankees or if a team starts up in Vegas.

No reason for Abreu to be on the roster then

Couldn’t one argue that Reinsdorf does it by choice and doesn’t believe any player is worth “X” amount? I agree the Sox would get a much bigger bounce from signing Bryce, but it’s also extremely likely there were 2 or 3 places that Bryce would agree to play. It might be up to those places to make their best offer while using Sox to increase the bid.

How is this any different than the Sox?

They have to move pieces no matter what as they have too many starters and outfielders and need another infielder and reliever.

You'll be shocked to know I'm having problems with a tweet, but Craig Mish (great Marlins insider) said on the radio that everything he's hearing is Harper to the Dodgers.

Just share it

I know this is common perception, but I also think they might be trying to clear up their glut of outfielders and free up money for a set-up man and LeMahieu

And Rick should have been fired after 2016. Both organizations have been a joke the last 5 years or so with more bad news being made off the field than good news on the field.

Yeah right....Rick and Gar ever being on the hot seat

Would also be pissed that they let go of Avi if they just give his at bats to Delmonico

Not saying you’re wrong, but this will kill the fan base.

Thing is, Grandal and Brantley is probably going to help win you more games than Harper and Omar would have.
