  1. Meeks was out of bounds on last jump ball
  2. Soxtalk has really matured. Haven't seen one person blame KW for the decision today
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 03:39 AM) My fellow Pole Karnowski is playing like hot garbage He's the anti-Bill Walton tonight
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 01:40 AM) Not bad for a guy who isn't over... Roman is incredible
  5. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 09:02 PM) Rick Renteria comes off as exceedingly competent. He is a master of saying Ventura's leadership was bad last year without saying it out loud
  6. QUOTE (kev211 @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 09:01 PM) Tarp now covering the infield fully. Could've been in the 3rd inning by now. Barely any rain in the last hour. Epic fail by this organization. Not surprising though Good way to piss off your biggest crowd of the season
  7. Still waiting for Bray to have a memorable match. Agreed that Brock match was great.
  8. Not a dirty play by Delmonico. Brewers fans hate him anyways
  9. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 08:53 PM) Did you read the OPS and OBP numbers? See Y2J response
  10. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 09:46 PM) He has a .488 OBP and his OPS is 1.070. Don't think he's going to be a top 3 pick though. Same with Baker.
  11. Love Delmonico's swing. Really hope he crushes it in AAA
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 09:13 PM) Moncada won't be up this season. That would be ridiculous if you are trying to lose 110 games. If he's ready for the bigs, then there's no reason we should be doing a rebuild, we should be tinkering and try to win if he's gonna be on the big league team from May on. You are going to hate the next two seasons
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 09:05 PM) I picked 55 to 59 wins. The offense projects to be so bad I'd suggest our road record will be horrific. The starting pitching is not good so we'll lose our share of games very early. And our bullpen reeks so we'll blow 1/3 to 2/3 of the games we lead late. I think it's gonna be one of the worst teams the Sox have ever had. We'll know very early there is no hope of .500. Those of you who want to lose every game should demand we trade Abreu soon. He might win a few games by himself. He's our one good hitter. Trade him and that will take care of any aspect of the team being good. Better than winning 75 games
  14. May doesn't seem to read balls very well off the bat. Noticed that all ST
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 31, 2017 -> 01:38 AM) Everyone seems to think that the Sox would benefit from him being in the upcoming J2 class but I'm not sure it matters. If he's in the class, the Sox could offer him $8.3 million (after trading for $3.5 million in space). Some small market teams could theoretically pay him $10 million though. I'm not sure it matters but those are the facts. If he's cleared prior to June 15th, it's all about $$. It's not like the big boys are involved though. San Diego, St. Louis, and Houston will be big players in this scenario. The White Sox really can't outbid those teams though if they want the guy? I know the Padres have spent $80 million internationally this year. Would they really pump that up to $120-$130 million to sign Robert? If Reinsdorf can't win a bidding war with those teams, we are probably doomed anyway. Great post, for some reason I fear the Cards the most for Robert. They have the resources and need prospects after losing their draft picks.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 03:55 AM) So we might have another Jose Valentin situation on our hands...well, if Basabe has 85% of the career, it's still a huge win for the Sox because of his speed and defensive tools. Fwiw, 816 OPS career against righties and 598 against lefties (Valentin). No idea at this stage but he was better vs LHP last year
  17. Best surprise of ST was Delmonico. Extremely powerful swing and good balance at the plate. Collins' eye at the plate is great. Kopech was another nice surprise, as his stuff looked even better than advertised. Biggest disappointment was Giolito. Just don't see him being effective unless his fastball improves.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 03:12 AM) Did anyone actually see how Basabe looks as a hitter in terms of his stance and approach? That was his PA, right? He has looked solid from the left side. His swing righty in the 9th was as ugly as possible
  19. Had no idea that Bourjos supported LaRoche
  20. Shields is so bad. Still will never understand how they decided to make that trade
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 25, 2017 -> 09:26 PM) They used Burdi a lot this spring with some guys gone for the WBC. Seems to have caught up to him lately. I'm not the biggest fan of his set up and delivery. Seems like he might struggle to have quality command
  22. Tons of good stuff here. Would love to get Dodgers involved for Q https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2...UIPL/story.html
