QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 01:54 AM) Anderson needs to wise up when at the plate He really might as well swing 3 times and hope for the best

Chicago White Sox vs Minnesota Twins 6/29/2016, Shields vs Nolasco, 7:
shields gonna give runs back. Has like a 5 mph difference between fastball and change up. He has to be one of the worst pitchers I have seen this year.

Chicago White Sox vs Minnesota Twins 6/29/2016, Shields vs Nolasco, 7:
Shields has nothing on these pitches. His command of his fastball is awful and his curve is very mediocre

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 01:31 AM) The way the Astros and a couple other teams look, the Sox should have clarity soon that they're out of it. Agreed, this could get ugly quickly. Talent level on the team is just not very good.

Blow It Up
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 09:51 PM) The Sox have a nice easy patch in their schedule coming up but I think they should seriously be navigating the trade market as sellers and getting a feel of the trade value of guys like Robertson, Melky and even Quintana, who I would only move if I'm getting an elite prospect back in any package. If the Sox are smart and take their lumps for two seasons they can really improve the trajectory of the franchise for the better. But would Jerry want to do that? If you are rebuilding for two years, then you have to trade Sale/Abreu/Frazier also

QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 10:31 PM) Melky has been listed as out for 3-4 days. Some lineup when your 4, 5 and 7 hitters are all at .214 or lower. This is what happens when you sit on your hands and don't make upgrades after LaRoche quit

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 12:15 AM) Jerry doesn't fire anyone. He has a .500 ball club and now he's content lol He's just content with seeing both of his franchises become irrelevant

How does Hahn still have a job? Hard to be worse than he's been the last two years.

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
QUOTE (soxfan85 @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 11:00 AM) While completely ignoring the fact that it took 15 innings to beat a horrendous team, and that they barely pulled one out against the same team the night before (after losing 6 of 7 the previous week to a couple teams over .500). If the past week showed me anything, it is that the Cubs are not invincible and can be beat by the teams that are .500 or above, especially if that team has some damn bats in the lineup instead of the minor league squads a lot of NL bottom feeders throw out there. Furthermore, if Arrieta keeps throwing the ball all over the place, they aren't winning anything. Oh and don't worry...I am sure they will beat up on "Cody Reed" today and the media will have a circle jerk about their sweep of Cincinnati. YEAH!! 3 batters, 3 runs

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 04:03 AM) Damn this Cubs team is a fun watch. Joe Maddon is playing Go when the rest of the league is playing checkers. He managed a bad game tonight and got lucky zobrist caught that ball. I'm sure the media will kiss the ground he walks on because the last two innings

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 04:52 AM) Baez for Nate Jones and David Robertson. Why not? Might as well help the Cubs win a World Series so about 5 years from now the city of Chicago is finally bored with it...unless they have their Braves'-like dynasty. Just stop

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 04:43 AM) J.J. Hoover gets completely squeezed on a Zobrist walk in the 15th. Zobrist scores the tying run as Bryant hits a soft dribbler through the left side for the go-ahead run. Hoover is so bad. Check out the strike zone Twitter from this game. Some of the calls vs Reds are comical. Oh well
