  1. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 01:56 AM) Hey, chopped liver here. Problem is Fowler could come off the market to the Cubs as well. Things look bleak at the moment.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 01:52 AM) If Chicago writers are starting to call him lazy, that is a bad sign. Yep, he's not coming here. Here come the reasons why.
  3. Interesting tweet from Fowler. Some rumors about a possible Cubs/Tampa trade as well. https://mobile.twitter.com/DexterFowler/sta...327354103599104
  4. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 12:47 AM) Thread closed. I see nothing
  5. I actually feel bad for Avi that he's going to be at SoxFest
  6. QUOTE (Baron @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 12:33 AM) I still think they have perhaps delusional thoughts on what he could turn into. After all they were the ones blowing smoke up our butts about how good he could possibly be only a year ago. Yep afraid to admit a massive scouting mistake. I also have no doubt they don't play the system with the draft picks like the Astros did last year.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 10:03 PM) He's a fantasy writer and his source seems to be from metsblog.com he does seem popular though. No reason not to believe him, he has some good credentials and doesn't need to be trolling. Not even related to this tweet, but this is the first time in a month I've thought the Sox are sticking with Avi.

    Can't wait for an Avi/Venable platoon

  10. Abreu will be here for four more years unless they trade him. No reason to worry about him at this time
  11. Well SoxFest should be better now
  12. Too bad it wasn't a 5 year, 500k deal to show there's no year limit
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 10:02 PM) At this point, f*** it and offer 5/125. The Sox need Cespedes. That would be gross
  14. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 09:55 PM) I know you're being sarcastic, but Sale really should demand a trade. He doesn't deserve to be on this garbage team any longer. No doubt in my mind he's gone next offseason if they suck again this year.
  15. I assume if Nats get him, they'll trade Taylor and a pitching prospect for Lucroy
  16. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 08:51 PM) So is Cespedes to Washington confirmed at this point or do we still have a sliver of a chance? Confirmed, and Sale has demanded a trade
  17. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 09:44 PM) This contract is a bad contract the minute he signs it. You can either spend money there or on scouting and draft/international players with value. The fact Avasail Garcia is terrible at baseball is what is killing the White Sox. This as well as a neglect of prospect resources is where the White Sox have failed miserably over the recent years. A replacement level RF is what they need. Yep, Avi and Davidson being busts has killed the resources.
  18. My opinion is Desmond is the opposite of Cespedes in terms of how they'd react to a long-term deal. Cespedes might have a hard time staying focused, but I believe Desmond pressed a lot last year after turning down the extension and would be more relaxed with a few years on his new contract.
  19. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 08:16 PM) The Nationals I meant the Sox
  20. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 08:15 PM) Why would they ever think it would be less? 6 years is one thing but 4-5 years you do it, IMO. It was never realistic to expect him to take anything less than 4 at minimum. Again, who said they want him for more than 3 years?
  21. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 08:14 PM) Typical White Sox. They wonder why their attendance numbers dwindle each year & it's because of this type of stuff. Let your division rivals get better & not complete the plan. They were never going to compete with that Upton contract
  22. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 08:09 PM) No pick attached considered... Potential decline in performance over the later years included... I still say give him 5/110 and roll the dice for 2016/2017. But that decline in performance in later years and a huge contract could cripple the team as they try to keep the core together.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) But David Robertson fits into that scenario how exactly? Which is exactly why I think the 3 year limit has more to do with the guys that were available instead of an organization philosophy.
  24. QUOTE (Baron @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 08:47 PM) I think it's the aftermath damage control that is going to irritate me more than him going to the Nats I'm sure we'll here "Yoenis woke up Wednesday thinking he'd be a White Sox, but the Nats blew him away with an offer"
  25. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 08:44 PM) Exactly when in this current plan can fans reasonably expect to compete for the playoffs again? This year, maybe they just don't have the money in the budget. Who knows, maybe they are also cutting down on long-term expenses to eventually sell? So much more to things than just claiming they're being cheap.
