QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 03:36 AM) Trayce crushes RHP and LHP. Start him now. Ball jumps off his bat
-
Trayce with some fantastic at bats
-
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 04:33 AM) Who'd possibly be ahead of him? Nola Im guessing? I'd laugh at that. Laugh more if it's Schwarber though. Yep, Schwarber
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 04:30 AM) That's very impressive. His sequence to get Kipnis is as good as anything I have seen from Sale. Not a knock on Sale, but rather praise for Rodon's stuff
-
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 03:29 AM) Who cares. It was a good pick. Of course it was great pick. Never thought he would be so underrated given his hype 18 months ago.
-
Can't believe that Kiley McDaniel said in his chat today that Rodon wouldn't likely be the first pick if they did the 2014 draft over.
-
Don't agree with you complaining about drafting anymore. Especially since new slot system, they have drafted quite well. Even drafted Rodon despite Boras trying to get them not to.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 01:56 AM) Aww, they didn't give Brantly the silent treatment. Was that his first career?
-
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 02:55 AM) But they have real value, as well. Abreu and Q are worth real prospects. You can get something of value for them. Sale is the wild card. You can't get a return worth Chris Sale. Ironically I think you can, especially now he's one year closer to free agency. Boston absolutely could make it work. Betts, Swihart, ERod, Devers and Margot and you have a deal.
-
Consecutive singles for Trayce against two tough RHP
-
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 01:48 AM) He can stay, too, obviously. I generally don't care for the position players. My thing is Sale is the only player you cannot POSSIBLY get even money for. Fair enough, but Abreu, Eaton, Q and Robertson are good pieces as well.
-
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 02:41 AM) Fire Kenny Williams Fire Rick Hahn Fire Robin Ventura Fire most scouting Begin the recovery process with a real general manager and baseball operations team. Our current players just don't matter. None of them outside of Sale could possibly part of the "good White Sox" For someone that loves the Cubs prospects as much as you do, why discredit Rodon? I'm amazed at the lack of excitement about him.
-
Love the Davis idea
-
Again why would Rockies want Q? If they get rid of Arenado, they won't be competing for a few more years. I'm sure they would ask for Rodon and more.
-
Good effort Cardinals...better win tomorrow

Ventura "absolutely" wants to manage White Sox next season

QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 01:32 AM) Ofcourse he does...but he definitely shouldnt. His time should be up. After 4 lousy years, he's done nothing to justify more time -
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 09:08 PM) Young, above-average left-handed hitter, pretty good on the basepaths, and a premier defender at a spot where we are horrific defensively. He's pretty much good at all things where we're lacking. If Sox are spending 100 million dollars on a hitter, I hope they're more of a guaranteed slugger than Heyward is.
-
Can't wait for Beane to acquire Raburn for the opening series next year.
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 04:57 PM) 43-28 at home, 36-29 on the road. Only 8 teams in the MLB have a winning road record, the Cubs are only behind the Rangers and Cardinals in road winning percentage. The Pirates, however, are 46-21 at home and only 35-34 on the road, so if they fall behind the Cubs that could be big. Still think it'll be mostly a toss-up no matter where they play it though. Something of concern as well is the Pirates have sucked big time against the NL Central this year.
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 04:43 PM) It feels like the Cubs are the most dominant home team while they are mediocre on the road. Outside of yesterday. As we've discussed, you hope to avoid playing the one game WC playoff at Wrigley in case the wind is blowing out. Bryant's offense is all world at home and mediocre on the road. Given Arrieta's ability to avoid the long ball lately, the Cubs would seemingly be in good position at home for the 1 game if wind is howling out.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 03:45 PM) This thread exists because of Ryan f***ing Raybrun. God I hate that guy. Hahn should trade for him this offseason. Not because he'd be good for the Sox, but just so they won't have to face him anymore. That's got to be like a 2 win swing right there!

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 01:33 PM) Dude, come on. COME ON. We all see this thread. It's the truth. Also probably why their hitters seem so good as I see mostly their highlights only. The only game of theirs I have watched in full since the ASB was the Arrieta no-no.... That taught me a lesson I guess. Not that it matters, but I'm referring to the mlb.com in-game highlights that they have on game day.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 01:38 AM) In this century I'd agree. NL players don't really work for this team. Don't forget Peavy, he wasn't great for this team. Interesting that Scherzer isn't producing for what he's paid. Puljols is productive but the Angels regret that contract. Hopefully the Sox will realize trying to fill holes with NL players isn't working for them. That's where you throw out the stat book and look at recent history. And then you get guys like Liriano, Arrieta and Hammel that excel in NL after looking like garbage in AL

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 12:31 AM) Who can beat Ohio St? They are good, but VT is pretty average. Absolutely no way they should lose a regular season game.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 01:34 AM) You watch more Cubs baseball than any non-Cubs fan I know. Is it absurd to think Russell will be their best player when it's all said and done? I truly don't watch a lot since the first month, as it was so aggravating seeing other teams play awful. Typically I only watch mlb.com highlights or last few innings of a game. With that said, he easily could be the best. Talking a possibly 30 homer hitter with elite SS defense. I will be shocked if he's not 2nd best of their young guys after Bryant.
