  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 6, 2015 -> 12:20 AM) BYU! And Taysom Hill out for the year now. Guy has had a crazy up-and-down career
  2. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Sep 6, 2015 -> 12:25 AM) Oh please, your act is so tired. So it wasn't a delay of game that led directly to a TD? And no, I have no interest in this game after seeing Texas look as bad this year as they did last year. Better games on TV to watch now.
  3. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Sep 6, 2015 -> 12:20 AM) Nothing about the no-call on the facemask? shocking Missed drive to watch Alabama, sorry!!
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 6, 2015 -> 01:03 AM) What happened now Blatant delay of game not called on their TD play. They'll still beat Texas easily, but funny to see twitter erupt because of the crazy Longhorns fan base.
  5. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 6, 2015 -> 12:54 AM) Sale has given up weaker contact than Arrieta if you look at their batted ball profiles. He has him beat pretty handily by every advanced metric. Was Sale better last year compared to this year? I don't think so. Sale absolutely was better last year, IMO. Significantly fewer hits allowed. He also was way, way better with RISP last year.
  6. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 11:36 PM) On the things we know pitchers can control, Sale has been better this year. Do you think Greinke has been better than Kershaw this year? Difference in ERA between Greinke and Kershaw is half the difference between Arrieta and Sale. A 2.03 vs a 3.29 ERA is a pretty obvious choice for me as to the better pitcher for that season.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 10:24 PM) Hackenberg!!!!! Oh... Who's lost more money the last year, him or Samardzija? Penn St looks just awful on offense
  8. QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 09:55 PM) What?! Conor Gillaspie's OPS was .627 this year. That's absolutely terrible no matter which way you slice it. Alexei is very likely out of the picture next year, so Saladino may shift over to SS, or if Sanchez plays SS, then Saladino can play 2B. Olt, assuming he's healthy, gives them a more powerful option at 3B. If Olt isn't cutting it at the major league level, then Matt Davidson can take a break from whiffing in Charlotte for a bit, or you just DFA Olt. The White Sox have nothing to lose. Nice post!
  9. Arrieta on his way to not giving up a run in his start. Would be 6 of his last 7 starts. Can't believe some think Sale has been better this year.
  10. One of the worst kept secrets in baseball is that Price will end up with the Cubs.
  11. Typical lineup tonight. With Danks on the mound, I might have less interest in tonight's game than any Sox game in a very long time.
  12. QUOTE (harkness @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 09:13 PM) You really believe that cooper or any pitching coach "makes" a pitcher like Shark throw anything... Focusing too much on cutter caused his fastball to not be ready out of Spring Training? Also, I've said all year his mechanics are different than last season. He's pitching less over the top, which has caused his splitter to not have the same movement from last year.
  13. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 06:53 PM) Suppose the he accepts the QO. What would his status be at the end of next season? Despised
  14. The increased draft cap is just as valuable as the actual pick, IMO. The Astros took advantage of this a few months ago. As for this rumor leaking, wouldn't be shocked at all if it was by Samardzija or his agent as the first step in trying to blame his failures this season on things that could be overcome next year in a new setting.
  15. No Anderson again. Hope he's ok, as I assume they wouldn't bench him at 49 steals on the season.
  16. A frustrating thing is it seems like this is another veteran player that they traded for and had attitude, etc issues with (ie: Swisher).
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) The National League is done. Absolutely nothing to watch the rest of the regular season. Only undecided thing is Cubs/Pirates, and who will be home for WC game. Pirates just had a brutal series in Milwaukee, as their pitching has really struggled.
  18. Good to hear. FWIW, there were some media people saying in May/June that Samardzija was annoyed with Cooper making him throw so many cutters.
  19. DJ questioning the mindset that Steverson puts the hitters in. He's been very critical of everything
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 07:29 PM) The only luck is the luck they get to face him. He's Javy Vazquez with a lower K rate. Javy was better
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 07:25 PM) My hope is they give him the QO and he doesn't want anything to do with signing with the Sox. Sign a one-year deal with somebody else, and gamble on a better contract for 2017-2020. Still think he could sign a few months into the season, possibly with the Cubs. Seems like a Theo move.
