  1. Heck of an effort by the Cardinals in their series vs the Cubs this week!
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) Hard to score when Eaton/Flowers/Alexi give you absolutely nothing so far. Kind of amazing the team's won 10 games when so many of the core players have been absolutely horrific. They're playing even beyond worst case scenario projections.
  3. Make that 181 out of 183 for Eaton, and Alexei is 179th
  4. Going into today, Eaton's 180th out of 182 offensive players in terms of WAR. Good thing he keeps leading off!
  5. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 7, 2015 -> 08:44 PM) Offenses struggle. That's baseball. That's why the best hitters in the game struggle to get hits even 1 out of 3 times. What the f*** is Ventura doing managing this team, though? That's what I can't figure out. Of course he shouldn't be here, that's beyond obvious this season. Unfortunately the team is ran like a family-owned business where there's no accountability.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:44 PM) Sale and Samardjiza are't really bench players though. Bullpen wise, they can't use Rodon today, so they're short in the pen.
  7. QUOTE (LDF @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) ooch.... that was harsh, but extremely funny. Reds have been hitting a ton of homers...should be quite interesting see them face Danks/Noesi
  8. Aren't the Sox two men short on the bench right now due to suspensions?
  9. QUOTE (shysocks @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:39 PM) Very weird decision on its surface but Jennings did pretty well when going >1 inning last year. 18 innings, 1 earned run, 17 hits, 3 walks, 16 K's. What makes it weird is that other guys were available. Probably saving other guys for this weekend when the bomb squad is pitching.
  10. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:35 PM) Ventura's managing is indefensible Bad managing, but this game was lost by the offense.
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) Thank you Adam Eaton for being a no show this season
  12. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:30 PM) Why was this inning not treated as high leverage? Puzzling. Ozzie used to do this all the time, and it drove me nuts.
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:27 PM) Wrong base? I love how Hawk thinks Eaton is a good throwing outfielder. First, he might have the slowest release in all of baseball. Second, he seems to spike his throws about 1/3 of the time. When he doesn't spike it, he's off target.
  14. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 7, 2015 -> 08:25 PM) Losing one game in a series is understandable, it doesn't really bother me. But I'd at LEAST like to see some ability to hit consistently. Losing because we manage 3 hits and 1 run off of basically an almost rookie....pretty bad. Well said! Too many games like this already this year where a LHP just dominated the Sox (Millone, Price)
  15. It's really too bad they didn't try to get Grandal this offseason.
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) Why even let flowers bat there I'm ok with it there, might as well hope he runs into one and helps take the lead. It's not like there's any power on this horribly designed bench.
  17. Below .500 OPS from our catchers combined with horrible defense.
  18. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:15 PM) At some point this team needs to figure out how to hit guys like Tommy Millone. Gonna need to shake up the lineup for that. Maybe move Beckham to the 2nd spot.
  19. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 7, 2015 -> 07:38 PM) Everyone, except for the Cardinals a few years ago, feels this way. Especially when there's not many HR's. That's because the double that scores the runs winds up on 2nd and the inning eventually has to end. It's natural, the Sox have had plenty of hits in big situations but if the ball's not leaving the park eventually runners are going to be stranded. Just looked it up, Sox are tied with Giants for fewest amount of extra base hits with RISP (7 doubles, 1 triple, 4 homers)
  20. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 7, 2015 -> 08:02 PM) 2 hits.... They really have to make a decision on what to do with Bonifacio. He was specifically brought in to face LHP.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2015 -> 08:00 PM) Anyone know how to find out Cabrera's GO/FO ratio as a righty? Found the answer, nearly 2.25 ground balls per fly ball with a line drive percentage around 7.5% vs LHP.
  22. Anyone know how to find out Cabrera's GO/FO ratio as a righty?
