  1. Nice hit by Soto, slide next time
  2. Samardzija pitching much better now
  3. This team has such a crazy lack of power on the road
  4. Melky looks overmatched. 6 pitches, 2 strike outs
  5. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 24, 2015 -> 12:48 AM) wRC+ for batters with over 110 PA: 200+: Bryce Harper 100-200: 254 guys 50-100: 126 guys 40-50: 9 guys 30-40: Jose Ramirez, Rene Rivera 20-30: Nobody 10-20: Nobody 0-10: Carlos Sanchez Loaded at middle infield!
  6. The excuses Hawk has for Sanchez are sad
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 24, 2015 -> 01:34 AM) No way, and it was hit in the hole he was playing up the middle for a DP. The Sox suck, but the complaimts are getting ridiculous. Hawk and Stone agree that he didn't need to rush it with that slide, as Mauer is a slow runner.
  8. How is Pelfrey throwing so hard now?
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 24, 2015 -> 01:30 AM) That would have been a hit anyway. Easy force at second
  10. And another play Alexei fails to make. Good thing they didn't bench him.
  11. Once again, his stuff sucks in the first inning. 91-92 mph fastballs
  12. Must be nice to develop players that don't look horrendous when they are promoted
  13. First inning Samardzija strikes again. How in the world is Ventura still managing this team?
  14. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 24, 2015 -> 12:23 AM) Sigh, not surprised. Same as it ever was... On a good team, Alexei would be batting 9th. Instead we see him 2nd or 6th
  15. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Jun 24, 2015 -> 12:22 AM) Despicable at bat from Cabrera. Just sickening. First pitch to him is why he sucks this year. He can't turn on a fastball to save his life
  16. Alexei rolls over on another good pitch to hit.
  17. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 24, 2015 -> 12:33 AM) What a s***ty team we have :/ And organization
  18. Comical how awful the pitching for the Pirates has been since they dominated Sox hitters.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 09:13 PM) It is problem with drafted players, but we do much better in acquisitions. Even that though has been questionable of late. Eaton was good last year, and stinks this year (and of course, Hector Santiago is now pitching superb). Avi looks like a question mark as well going forward.
  20. QUOTE (michelangelosmonkey @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 09:10 PM) Really THAT'S your take away? Which of the Cubs starters would you trade straight up for Rodon, Sale or even Q? Hammel's old. Lester is old and expensive. Arrieta's is 30 and has a season and a half of success. Hendricks isn't good. And the POINT wasn't are the Cubs good...which I think they are...but they built around hitting and their pitching, irrespective of team ERA is a bit shaky. The Sox will lose Shark off their payroll next year and with five cheap starting pitchers can go out and sign two or three high priced free agents to make the team better. Hammel is only 2 years older than Samardzija is. I would take Arrieta over Quintana, but Arrieta is about to become very expensive. You add David Price to those 3 next season, and they have the makings of a very good staff to go with what should be a studly offense.
  21. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 09:07 PM) Eh, if I had to choose between what would likely just be Bryant and lesser prospects vs a package of Schwarber/Edwards++ I think I'd go with the package of multiple studs. Underwood is their best pitching prospect, IMO. Edwards looks like he's going to be a reliever. I'd rather take the likely superstar in Bryant at a position the Sox have nothing good at (3B). With that said, they're not going to trade him.
  22. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 09:03 PM) i have been passing on this, but i am too tempted. everyone is hyped about Bryant, why not Rizzo, Russell and Schwarber, forget about Vogelbach They're not trading Rizzo...or Bryant, IMO I think they'll go after someone like Sonny Gray and offer Schwarber and Baez, etc.
  23. QUOTE (shysocks @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 07:49 PM) Hey man, the logic behind the move will always be sound but for whatever reason it didn't/probably won't work out.TM Davidson yes, Molina absolutely no
  24. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 07:55 PM) I agree. I think the premise from Cameron is awful. Trade everyone and blow up, no. But it might make sense to trade one of the cost controlled guys and Q would probably be the best bet. I would have to get blown away though (3 top prospects, 2 of which are top 50 guys). Small market (and big market teams) can both be players, which increases potential return, imo. I think between Shark and Q, we should be able to land 4 top 100 guys and 2 top 50 guys, but again, I might be delirious (plus some other fill in's). I still say a trade centered around Puig and a top prospect from Dodgers could make a ton of sense for Sox. If you're going to trade everyone and blow it up, you might as well deal Rodon as well. If you are waiting 3-5 years to compete, he's going to be close to free agency by the time the team is good again. So yes, I agree blowing it up is a bad idea.
