  1. Time to lower the 6.23 ERA on the road the team has. Also saw this note from Merkin: Scott Merkin @scottmerkin · 3h 3 hours ago Per game notes from @MLBNetwork, White Sox are last in defensive runs saved in 2015 with -15.
  2. Oh where oh where is Frankie Montas?
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2015 -> 05:22 PM) Adam Eaton is our CF, and he isn't going anywhere for a while. Even if he sits, it will be JB Shuck that plays this year, not any minor leaguer. By the start of 2017, Anderson should hopefully be ready for the majors. His skill set most likely works the best in CF. Eaton has two years to prove himself, and I'm optimistic he will.
  4. QUOTE (Lillian @ May 1, 2015 -> 05:01 PM) The best thing is that the centerfielders at Charlotte, Birmingham and Winston Salem, are all playing really well. I'm hopeful that Thompson, May or Engel will emerge as our centerfielder, way before Eaton's contract is finished. Who among those 3, intrigues you guys the most? Option D...Tim Anderson
  5. Can't link it from phone, but Bernstein retweeted an article saying Cubs TV ratings up 110 percent this year
  6. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 1, 2015 -> 03:42 AM) 12 runs to the Twins bullpen ERA rising also. Mauer just kills the Sox. Scary to think Petricka was actually relied on last year. He has a severe lack of a second pitch.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2015 -> 03:41 AM) Even if Sale was on tonight, the Sox have 2 runs. The offense needs to get goimg. The offense is constructed like an NL team that plays 81 games at PetCo. They put way too much stock into Avi hitting 25 homers.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2015 -> 03:17 AM) So you are saying Quintana and Samardjiza, and Sale tonight is because of the manager? You have stated Danks is one of the worst in the league, and I wouldn't think Noesi ranks too far ahead of him. No, the last two games is on the aces. In terms of a turn around, the Sox have a chance that those Twins never had based on pitching. A rotation of Sale, Shark, Q, Rodon and Noesi has a chance to dominate. Cooper probably should remember how to coach.
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ May 1, 2015 -> 02:12 AM) This team has no f***ing leadership. If this was the NBA, Sale would be requesting a trade at the deadline. I wonder if how good his relationship is with the org right now.
  10. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 1, 2015 -> 02:09 AM) As s***ty as these last two games have been, a lot of you guys sure love jumping to conclusions over a handful of games. We have seen the same thing all year. Even in the games that were won, the team was making a ton of mistakes.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2015 -> 02:07 AM) A manager doesn't make 20 games difference. Besides, you have mentioned Gardenhire, and his teams averaged about 95 losses the last 4 years. The talent on the Sox this year has way more potential than those Twins teams did, especially on the mound.
  12. QUOTE (Jake @ May 1, 2015 -> 02:07 AM) Think OAK will give Semien back? Ha, no way
  13. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 1, 2015 -> 02:05 AM) Lmao he takes avi out lol That's what happens when you don't have a true back-up outfielder who can play CF
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ May 1, 2015 -> 02:04 AM) I think a big issue with expectations vs. reality is that we have a team with below average defenders at all but two positions, but it's hard to wrap your head around that compared to batting averages, etc. The other thing is that there are only two fast players on the team and several plodders. In those "little things" areas of defense and baserunning, you're looking at a near-league-worst team. We have to be really good when it comes to hitting and pitching to overcome that and it doesn't look we have it in us to do that. I do question why Hahn made some quick fixes and then seemed to just neglect catcher spot and third base. Oh well, another month of bad playing and Samardzija will be on the trade market.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ May 1, 2015 -> 02:01 AM) It's not a good team and never had much of a chance to be one. We'll make some good runs and finish around .500 unless we just punt at some point, which I doubt we do. We spent a lot of resources on a mediocre LF, solid DH, mid-rotation SP, and elite closer. That doesn't a good team make unless you had a decent club to begin with. Doesn't help Eaton is having a horrific season and that Sale, Shark and Q have sucked.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2015 -> 02:55 AM) I would see how this year goes. Firing him now accomplishes nothing. Samardziaj and Sale gave up 17 runs combined their last starts. As much as you want to blame Robin for that, it doesn't make sense. I still say this franchise can't afford another 65-73 win season this year, so they need to show some urgency these first few months.
  17. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 1, 2015 -> 01:54 AM) Attitude of this team would change. You have never seen a new manger come to a team and they play better? Maddon has made a huge difference already for the Cubs
  18. QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ May 1, 2015 -> 02:44 AM) No fundamentals whatsoever. No discipline. No passion. Awful. This team is hard to like. They are dumb and boring. I can't imagine any casual fan wanting to spend their resources on this team.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2015 -> 02:25 AM) Limiting sliders. Trying to keep Sale off the operating table. Again, ask the Red Sox just how desperate they are then. Sale is not a top 5 pitcher without his best pitch.
  20. Maybe we can use our top prospect in mop-up duty again!!!
  21. Wow, this is scary. He's become a two pitch pitcher now without his slider.
  22. QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 1, 2015 -> 02:17 AM) Hawk, please stop with this complete and utter BS ... This is not a good baseball team. Red Sox, make your best offer.
