QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 02:58 PM) Eaton joined the Sox in 2014. Teaford last played for the Royals in 2013, and that was 1 game. Scratch that source. That's awesome, good stuff

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 03:47 PM) Seems like Samardzija wants to stir up s*** on his own, not just stand up for his teammates. Obviously a pitcher has to retaliate when it's really warranted, but that's not what's going on with Smarj. He's not as big of an idiot as Y Ventura, but he's not clean in this situation. If Samardzija has a problem with KC dating back to last year, it makes more sense why he was so quick to throw at Cain on Opening Day. Like you said, time for Samardzija to grow up a bit as well.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 02:45 PM) Ex-KC pitcher, no bias there No doubt he's bias, but thought it was interesting he was quick to point out Eaton's previous behavior against them. I can't recall anything Eaton did specifically....I just think he's an obnoxious player.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 02:43 PM) Who is that, and what is he talking about? Former Royals pitcher now in Tampa organization

QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 02:36 PM) Very Carlos Zambrano like. I wonder if he is a "red bull" person on the day of games. They energy drink really effects personalities in our students as well. You can tell during exams when they use them. It doesn't effect everyone the same but it really effects some. Of course the other could be PED driven Or maybe he is just an a*$. Funny thing is I remember Zambrano getting weird cramps as well when he used to pitch.

Seems like Eaton has done some stuff in the past vs KC Everett Teaford @ETeaparty25 · 10h 10 hours ago Not totally defending Ventura, but I have seen Eaton pull some bush league moves on KC players in the past. Always 2 sides to every story.

Not saying it didn't happen, but sure seems like more people would be aware of the Sale situation if it really did occur.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 03:25 PM) Apparently Sale tried to find Ventura in the Royals clubhouse in the 8th inning or something I feel like I'm missing a good joke by you here

8-10 for a Samardzija would be way too much. No way should he get more than Herrera from last week.
-
I'm more frustrated with tonight's attendance (just over 14k) than I was yesterday's. The team really needs to start winning more to create a buzz in the city.

4/24-26 - The Pale Hose vs. The Team That Inspired Lorde's Angst
fathom replied to Quin's topic in 2015 Season in Review
I won't be around this weekend, so enjoy the game threads and hopefully the Sox can win a few games this weekend to avoid falling 8.5 games out. -
QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 04:45 AM) I would be completely shocked if Connor batted anything above .240 this year with 3 HR. Davidson of he keeps it up has looked to turn a corner batting around .280 with 3 HR at AAA so far and I think could easily bat .250 with 20 HR. As long as he keeps doing whatever he is doing this year as opposed to the bad year he had last year If they call up Davidson, it's possible he would make LaRoche look like Tony Gwynn in terms of contact ability. One thing that's interesting based off of small sample size is he's hitting RHP better than LHP. He also hit significantly better against RHP than LHP last year.

Hopefully they suspend Eaton for 3 games
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 04:06 PM) Schwarber is hitting 250 right now. well, make that like .360 now with a huge OPS.
-
QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 04:34 AM) Matt Davidson would solve that Not a fan, but it does bring up an interesting argument if the defense is similar for both. Would Davidson batting .195 with 20 homers be more valuable than Gillaspie at .260 and 8 homers?

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 04:32 AM) A small part, Eaton and laroche much more I obviously hate LaRoche's contact issues, but he's at least been a big contributor in 2 of the Sox wins this year. More than what can be said about some of his teammates.
-
FYI, Sox have scored 2 runs or less in over half their games (8/15). No clue what they can do to fix things at this point, to be honest.
-
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 04:30 AM) It did nothing for the white sox. The starting three were not the ones that needed to show anything. I don't blame them due to the conditions and everything else going on, but having such a small crowd tonight took away some of the electricity you normally see after a fight. There seemed to be some pretty audible Lets Go Royals chants during extra innings.
-
Biggest issue with Sox lineup right now is that there is no power at all outside of Abreu/LaRoche. Hard to score a lot of runs when you have minimal power and a team that doesn't walk much. 3rd base is a position that looks to need a serious upgrade. With Johnson/Eaton on this roster likely to be starting for the next few seasons, you can't have gaping power issues in RF and 3B as well.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 04:19 AM) Holy hell steph curry Most exciting professional athlete of 2015
-
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 05:17 AM) What is wrong with his mechanics. He looks incredibly stiff vs RHP, which slows down his bat speed and makes it nearly impossible for him to clear his hips to pull the ball with any authority. If you watch him against LHP, he seems to open up so much better.
-
The Sox have completely turned into the Royals b****
-
And of course, there's one of those flares
-
How can a hitting coach look at Avi's mechanics and not try to fix them?
-
can't believe LaRoche has turned into Dunn. It's early, but Morales looks to have been a much better possible fit.
