  1. Seems like just a matter of time before Cutler throws a pick. That's about 4 or 5 that almost got picked.
  2. Bears might be in trouble tonight. Not getting that 3rd touchdown near the goal line hurts.
  3. Does the PK Day on Saturday mean he won't be playing on Sunday?
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2014 -> 09:31 PM) I see Pertricka, Putnam, Guerra, and Surkamp back in 2015. I see Lindstrom and Bellisario out of the organization. Good thread, and I agree with what you said here. However, I fully expect the Sox to spend a good amount of money on a closer and set-up man.
  5. Why can't Avi make good contact on fastballs?
  6. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 20, 2014 -> 03:57 PM) This is false, unfortunately. Both Pitch F/X and BIS show him with a substantially above average O-Swing% this year, which the the percentage of out-of-the-zone pitches he swings at. Sorry, I meant the last few weeks it seems he's not chasing pitches as much. When he returned from the injury, his timing was so off he was swinging at everything. Are there stats to show his swing percentage by month?
  7. I still think Avi should be used as a trade chip if there is a team out there that projects him as a future star. I've watched all of his at bats closely this year, and it's amazing how much he struggles to square up any pitch over 90 mph. I'm not sure if it's due to the labrum injury, but he's going down the same path as other previous Sox youngsters like Josh Fields. I've been impressed by his ability to work the count, as he's not chasing a lot of pitches out of the zone.
  8. It would make no sense for the Sox to trade for Cueto with him being a FA after 2015. He's going to be seeking something in the range of 25 mil per year. I've heard Boston is a possible spot for him, which would make sense as they have a ton of money/prospects to use to acquire players.
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 19, 2014 -> 10:25 PM) I don't think it's so much that people are upset about calling it a bad trade but are more upset or agitated that you aren't acknowledging the intent behind the trade. The intent was good, but thus far the trade has been bad. It's similar to trading Sergio Santos to Toronto. Neither has worked out for the Sox, but it's not a bad process. You are essentially gambling that a prospect who will play 2-4 times as often as a reliever will pan out versus a solid but not spectacular reliever who has a limited ceiling. The Reed trade was significantly better on paper than the Santos one.
  10. IIRC, Leake was someone the Sox were supposedly interested this past offseason
  11. QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 18, 2014 -> 02:14 AM) Yup, it was Robins fault that ball fell in the bermuada triangle. Awful defense has been so prominent the last two years for the Sox. They have changed a lot of the personnel, and it's still awful.
  12. How does Robin still have a job?
  13. Don't even think about another additional start now
  14. Eaton has been great this year.
  15. QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 04:01 AM) Aoki really has been ridiculous against us....I almost wanna sign him just to make sure we no longer have to face him. Ugh, no thanks to 3 slappy hitters in the lineup
  16. If the score holds, the Sox will have lost all of the games in which Lindstrom has appeared in since he returned from injury (12)
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 02:47 AM) OMG. Ned's playing the platoon game in the sixth fricking inning? Finnigan can't even stay in to face Viciedo? Baseball is so f***ing boring with all this platooning. Awful. Why do I stay with this sport? Ridiculous. It's a great move when you have Herrera/Davis/Holland to rely on at the end of the game.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 02:45 AM) I'm amazed at how many baseball players today like Wilkins have no chance of hitting the ball against a pitcher who throws from the same side they hit. I mean is Wilkins EVER going to be able to hit against a lefty? Gillaspie's splits are much more concerning, IMO
  19. Andy Wilkins is one of the more overmatched prospects the Sox have called up in a long time. As I've said before, it worries me that AAAA players like Wilkins, Danks and Phegley dominated at Charlotte this year, but Davidson couldn't hit at all.
  20. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 02:40 AM) This is about as bad a game as I have ever seen. I was thinking this was the equivalent of the first quarter of the Bears game from Sunday
  21. Avi is so fast once he gets going
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 03:33 AM) JD Martinez 3-run homer with 2 outs. Tigers got this division. He's been better than Miguel Cabrera this year. What an unbelievable signing for the Tigers
  23. Looking forward to seeing Finnegan pitch tonight for KC
