White Sox @ Mariners 8:10CT CSN
A strong .214 OBP for the leadoff hitter with a 43/5 K to walk ratio De Aza with a .291 OPS against LHP I'm pretty sure Ventura's trying to get fired now

5 runs in his 41 innings for the Sox.

Wow, this offense doing so many things wrong. It doesn't help that Alexei had no clue where the fielders were on Konerko's single.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 10, 2014 -> 02:17 AM) And Beckham costs the sox a run. He's just stealing playing time from guys who need it for the future. Really disappointed in the lack of urgency by the club to shake it up.

Abreu having a hard time with fastballs of late.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 10, 2014 -> 02:57 AM) Abreu, Ramirez, Viciedo... that's it Viciedo is borderline. ADA is one of the worst hitters in baseball against a LHP, yet he's batting 2nd?

This offense has just disappeared. Tonight's lineup has two guys that should be starting in the majors on a full time basis.

Just saw the Sox lineup. Having the two worst hitters in the lineup against a LHP batting in front of Abreu is crazy.

Another awful offensive effort. Viciedo is the only one who looks dangerous at the plate this week. Some majors changes have got to be made soon. I'd love to see Avi replace ADA, Semien replace Beckham and Wilkins for Dunn.

Abreu with quite the HR drought. Doesn't help the team seems to try and do everything they can to make sure he's up with no one on.

8/8 Games
Adams now with a 48/2 strikeout to walk ratio

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 9, 2014 -> 04:19 AM) De Aza needs to take one for the team and play CF so Sierra can play instead of Garcia Agreed, and if Eaton goes on the DL, then call up Taylor.

Should have known the outcome with Nieto playing.

Seen this from Quintana far too often.

This team is in full tank mode, it appears

And Q melts down, of course. Conor is playing himself into a question mark for next year.

Hawk is more annoyed at Leury than we are. With Eaton likely out for a few games, I really hope they give someone else a shot in CF.

Leury is such a joke at the plate.

Eaton already left injured. The team needs to start being way more cautious with him when he's banged up. Oh well, more at bats for Leury.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2014 -> 02:33 PM) I think the plan is already starting to crack, which is why they have started bringing guys up this quickly, instead of being mindful of contract situations. I would say it's the exact opposite of that, as the window might have been pushed up due to the incredible progress of their top minor league guys. Also, I'm sure they are thrilled that Lester didn't extend with the Red Sox.

QUOTE (BaconOnAStick @ Aug 8, 2014 -> 05:07 AM) I'm talking about next year. You do know that absolutely none of the guys we have in the pen now should be around next year? That we need an entirely new group? Even Petricka is kinda garbage (he just looks nice because he's surrounded by a dumpster). Also, there is a precedent on the roster right now for starting a big league career in the pen. I don't really like it either to be honest, I'd rather see Rodon start off the bat. But! I'd also like to win in 2015 and I think with a decent pen they can. That's more important than being accomodating to Rodon. I'll take Putnam and Petricka back next year, and Webb should be in AAA to start the season. Competing in 2015 is a long shot in my opinion, and I hope Hahn doesn't try to fix every hole in one offseason.

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 8, 2014 -> 06:02 AM) I think with Cleto, there is always a reasonable doubt whether or not he meant to hit somebody Screw that, first time all year he hit his spot
