Sox acquire Adam Eaton from ARZ, deal Santiago, Jacobs
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 06:56 PM) We're going to give up Santiago for a guy who might stick as a starting CF but could end up a 4th OF?????? But he's a grinder

Sox acquire Adam Eaton from ARZ, deal Santiago, Jacobs
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 06:49 PM) You could hear that in September. Yep, same way you could tell Rios was gone a few weeks before it happened.

Sox acquire Adam Eaton from ARZ, deal Santiago, Jacobs
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 06:49 PM) No, Arizona is getting them. No idea from which side. I'd guess one from LAA, one from the Sox. I think the Sox will get something additionally from LAA too, if everything works out. My fault, thanks for clearing it up

Sox acquire Adam Eaton from ARZ, deal Santiago, Jacobs
QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 05:46 PM) 11:38am: MLB.com's Steve Gilbert tweets that Arizona would receive a pair of good prospects in addition to Trumbo. From us??? If they get Skaggs/Santiago and 2 good prospects for Trumbo, then goodness that's a hell of a deal by them.

Sox acquire Adam Eaton from ARZ, deal Santiago, Jacobs
QUOTE (beautox @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 06:44 PM) or they're going to move him to LF where he is even more of an asset In my opinion, the Sox wanted nothing to do with ADA after last year.

QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 06:42 PM) I'm digging Eaton's .441 OBP in AAA. Do it. That was in the PCL, right?

Sox acquire Adam Eaton from ARZ, deal Santiago, Jacobs
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 06:41 PM) You're saying this off more than Eaton's 300 ML at-bats? Santiago is nice labor for the price but has anyone here honestly touted his ceiling..like at all? I see no reason why Santiago can't be a #3 starter. He had a fantastic K rate last year.

Sox acquire Adam Eaton from ARZ, deal Santiago, Jacobs
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 05:39 PM) This would be a hilariously dumb trade for us straight up, but I have faith in Hahn. It's been pretty obvious, IMO, that the Sox aren't as high on Santiago as a lot of us are.

QUOTE (southside hitman @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 06:32 PM) Yeah I don't have a problem with it. Santiago seems to have maxed out his talents. He was serviceable last year in the rotation, but let's not pretend he's a frontline starter. Maxed out his talents? For being bounced around last year, I'd be excited to see future improvement from him with a full year in the rotation. For all this talk about the Sox going young to get Eaton, it sure seems like getting rid of a young pitcher in Santiago could be counterproductive.

Hopefully it's Adam Eaton the outfielder and not the former Padres pitcher. With KW in charge, you never know.

Sox acquire Adam Eaton from ARZ, deal Santiago, Jacobs
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 06:11 PM) Me likey. Why's that? (I mean that as respectfully as possible, as I want to be sold on Eaton)

Getting Adam Eaton does not equal fan excitement, so now I'm intrigued

Not a fan of Eaton. I saw quite a few of his at bats last year, and he didn't seem like an impact player. To me, it would seem like Santiago should have more value than him. If it was a trade of someone like Reed for Eaton, I'd be ok with that.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 02:46 PM) Random rant: how the hell is Denver 12-8? Their best player is Lawson (solid, but probably not an All-star out west) and their second best is....Faried? Chandler? I don't even know. I thought this would be a diaster season until Gallinari returned, instead they're pretty good. For those that get HBO, watch Real Sports this month with the Brian Shaw segment. It makes you hope to see good things for him and the Nuggets.

Sox sign Felipe Paulino
I like this move, as quality depth in the rotation gives Hahn more options.
-
Sox sign Felipe Paulino

White Sox looking to trade starter, would like it to be Danks
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 06:53 PM) I don't trade a starter. Our pitching depth is grossly overrated. I could not agree more!

Teams begging Sox for Chris Sale
If you can get a package of Bradley, Davidson, Gregorius, Trahan and Eaton for Sale, I think you have to strongly consider it.

Juan Uribe re-signs with Dodgers
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 03:48 PM) Because he may not be a backup. If Semien does not earn the 3B job, Uribe could be part of a platoon with Gillaspie or maybe even earn the job outright. He's also a better option at 2B or SS in case they end up making a trade involving Ramirez or Beckham. Uribe would give the Sox a lot of flexibility with the roster. If they were to trade Beckham, it would be very disappointing if they don't give 2B to Semien. If they do end up trading Alexei, then I'm fine with them bringing in Uribe to play SS.

Juan Uribe re-signs with Dodgers
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 03:44 PM) Semien isn't going to be a backup at his age though. Semien is either earning the starting 3B job or starting the year at AAA. I see Uribe as more of a potential upgrade over Keppinger/LGarcia. But why spend a decent amount of money on a back-up infielder?
-
Juan Uribe re-signs with Dodgers
This would make absolutely no sense. Semien can play the positions that you would need Uribe for.

Official 2013-2014 College Hoops Thread
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 7, 2013 -> 07:29 PM) Have to say UCLA looks really good. Their offense is deadly. They caught a huge break with Kyle Anderson returning. Zach LaVine looks like maybe the most underrated recruit of this freshman class. They have great perimeter play, but I think they'll struggle with strong frontcourt teams.
