Something that's becoming scary is the Sox don't have a #5 hitter. Avi is a liability vs RHP, and LaRoche is a liability vs LHP. Garcia should be a #7 hitter vs RHP, but neither Gillaspie or Alexei are doing enough to move up in the order.

Wasting an entire year of Rodon's development having him pitch in the minors seems like a really bad idea, especially given how much the Sox are spending on Duke/Robertson. It's clearly a marketing move to try to get 10 extra Sox fans to attend tomorrow's game. In all seriousness, I despise using starters in the relief role. So much about their routine gets altered, and Rodon is the type of guy who's going to have to find a way to limit his pitches per inning and the relief role will make it an issue he doesn't have to focus on.

wow, wasn't expecting this. Have a feeling if Noesi has a bad start, Rodon will then be in the rotation. What I don't get is that there's absolutely no need for him in the bullpen right now, as lefty relief and Robertson is the only thing going well for the team.

Sadly, Beckham deserves more playing time. Time to face the big 3 of the Indians. Hard to put together a lot of wins when you are struggling in every aspect.
