  1. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 10:23 PM) Considering some of their starters not named Verlander have improved this season, would you take their coach over Cooper? Absolutely, as Cooper's magic has definitely come to an end. Danks/Floyd never improved from 2008.
  2. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:17 PM) I don't consider it likely I really wouldn't be shocked if he hung it up I'd be absolutely stunned. He's never once mentioned it, and no one in the media has mentioned it.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:15 PM) I can't believe we'd get outbid by the Rays Maybe the Sox don't want him back?
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:14 PM) Rays at the Cell next May 2. Is that when Suzuki's catching for the Sox?
  5. Well, about 50 people cheered for him. And ha, Dan Johnson still doesn't get to hit.
  6. I hope AJ gets a standing ovation here
  7. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:08 PM) I would like to see Konerko's post ASB for his career. Of course everyone will make excuses for him saying he's hurt. He's hurt allright. He's hurt this clubs post season chances. His pre/post ASB numbers for his career are incredibly similar.
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:07 PM) Reed needs to get his offspeed stuff over and like Hawk said, generally be able to throw strikes when ahead in the count. Tends to start throwing wildly when ahead in the count and usually will wind up having to lay a hittable fastball in there. He needs to learn how to not throw every single freaking pitch at the same height. He seems like a very comfortable at bat for hitters, as they know he's not going to throw anything shoulder level or in the dirt.
  9. Hawk being critical of Reed. If Hahn gets a good offer for Reed, see ya Addison. That stuff just isn't anything special.
  10. At what point do the White Sox investigate if Konerko got his PhD in hitting from a diploma mill?
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 10:01 PM) Is it true that Konerko didn't want to have that wrist bone chip taken care of over the last couple years because he wouldn't be able to play golf and hockey in the offseason? Not sure what the reason was, but he definitely declined it this past offseason for some reason.
  12. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 10:00 PM) Which means we're in for a bad year next year with Rios. I have faith that Manto has fixed him
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:59 PM) Be healthy soon, Dunnski Also, channel those .240 BA's of old But I prefer the 40 dingers over the .240 BA Problem is he was able to do both with ease in the past. If not for last season, Sox fans would have been pointing to Dunn's year in 2012 as awful.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:58 PM) The problem with Dunn and Konerko, is they're asking them to be 3-4 hitters, when they should be 5-6 hitters on a good team. Yep, I still think Rios could project as a very good #3 hitter next year if the team can find a decent #2 hitter. Sox #2 hitters must have hit around .220 this season.
  15. Dunn's OPS since the ASB is below .750. Outside of that big game on Monday, he's had 1 homer and 2 RBI this month.
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) I agree, Dunn is definitely the problem You make a terrible antagonist
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:54 PM) Oh look, Adam Dunn struck out. Oh look, Adam Dunn doesn't make the playoffs again
  18. Dunn went hitless in the 4 game series. Please take him NL
  19. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) Austin Jackson with a good catch off Revere too. Second most valuable player in the AL Central this year
  20. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:51 PM) Austin Jackson with a jumping catch at the wall off Span. Woudln't have been gone since it would've hit the 20 foot wall, but still..... If it was a zero or one game lead, that Tigers/Twins game would have been so upsetting today.
  21. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:48 PM) That pitch should have been hit five hundred feet. "Got a cookie and missed it" should be the Sox September slogan
  22. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:48 PM) Put this team out of its misery. I feel exactly the same way today as I did after the last home game last year. That is, aside from Chris Sale, I don't care who returns for 2013. I'm there with you, but at least this offseason I'm not rooting for Dunn to decide to retire. I'm going to be really upset if they decide not to get creative and overpay for Youkilis.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 09:35 PM) Would it really hurt the Sox to lose Mark Parent? Wonder if they'll get anyone interested in Sox Fest this year? Without a new manager and more than likely losing some key components of a team that collapsed at the end, yikes for those trying to selling tickets. It would be great if they lost him and brought in a more experienced bench coach. If the rumor is true and he's the one calling pitches, then good riddance to him.
  24. This offense sucks. Price had far from his best stuff today.
  25. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 08:30 PM) Was Viciedo really that close to hitting a grand slam? 25 feet away to center
