  1. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Oct 8, 2012 -> 08:23 PM) Are there any good RH hitting catchers hitting the market that can be brought in to split time with Tyler? Lucroy or Maldonado from the Brew crew are targets if they wanna make a trade. If you're going to platoon Flowers, you need to get someone that can hit RHP.
  2. How about the absolutely brutal decision in Game 3 of the World Series by Ozzie to bring in the injured, rusty Dustin Hermanson to face Jason Lane instead of Jenks? Lane doubled to tie up the score in the 8th and sent the game to extras.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 7, 2012 -> 12:43 AM) Dorsett drops two sure touchdowns Can't make a difficult catch on another long pass.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 6, 2012 -> 10:00 PM) I think you are right about coaches/managers. Then why do you give Ozzie so much credit for the 2005 season?
  5. What did Cooper say about Danks?
  6. Carpenter on StL is someone that I want the Sox to consider acquiring in order to play 3rd.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) In the real world, could a deal look something like Quintana for Headley? No chance. Headley absolutely blew up this year. The Padres were asking for a ton even before his sensational 2nd half. Padres would probably do Headley for Sale, but that's about the caliber of trade chip he's become. All signs point to the Padres keeping him though.
  8. QUOTE (KG#1 @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 05:12 PM) I can see Toronto picking up Johnson and him hitting about 40 home runs. Seems like thats Toronto's thing to do, find a guy that no one wanted and play him everyday and he becomes a huge home run hitter. Its worked for them with Jose and Edwin . . . I wish the Sox would find offensive diamonds in the rough - Although Sox do a good job of finding pitching like that. ADA was a diamond in the rough
  9. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 03:55 PM) Here's the thing..when a good guy is going bad for a stretch...do you apply this same logic in reverse? You personally, I'm not sure...but I think many people here will overrate a stretch of greatness from a mediocre player, and will similarly lose their s*** unnecessarily over a horrible stretch from a guy you're depending on. In the end, a person is their numbers. Dan Johnson is a guy with mediocre numbers, considering you can't use him many places in the field. It wasn't just a bad few weeks for Konerko, it was about a 3 month stretch where he clearly wasn't the same player. The Sox gave Konerko every chance in the world to snap out of it, and unfortunately, he never could this year. It's too bad he can't play the outfield even at a mediocre level, as he would have been a huge upgrade over Viciedo vs RHP.
  10. Again, I repeat what I've said for a few weeks now. No one on the Sox had better at bats the last month than Dan Johnson did. It's frustrating that there were games in which he should have been used against tough righties in order to give someone like an ailing Paul Konerko a breather.
  11. Youk had some pretty strong comments relating to the attendance and being shocked that the Sox, despite being in a pennant race, were playing second fiddle to the Cubs.
  12. http://www.chicagotribune.com/videogallery...tendance-issues This video makes it sound more like they want to try and enhance the fan experience in order to get more fans out to the game. Sorry about the confusion relating to spending more on talent. Still, nice to hear KW not be defensive about the attendance.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 03:31 AM) Tribune is saying he is expected to receive interest from multiple media outlets, but top would need permission to bolt. He gone. Yep, can we trade him?
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 02:22 AM) You are to Ozzie as a 13 year old girl is to Justin Bieber. Bieber is way more talented and actually attracts fans
  15. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 02:19 AM) This was the season they weren't predictable. They were predicted to lose close to 90 and they did a 180. But the choking part was predictable. Yep, this season was very unpredictable. Twice it seemed like the Sox were for sure going to let the Tigers run past them and never catch up. Both times, the Sox built up a few game lead over them.
  16. Give me Guthrie over Myers if the money is equal. With that said, I'm pretty happy with what KW said before the game today about spending money for next season. It was a different vibe than when he complains about the attendance, etc. He made it sound like the organization felt they had to spend money to get the team over the top, which would then equate to getting more fans out to the park.
  17. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 01:19 AM) Injured wrist Paul Konerko says hello. As does Dan Johnson
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 11:43 PM) Good thing we never played Johnson. Healthy Dan Johnson >>>> injured wrist Paul Konerko
  19. Congrats on loss number 10 on the season to Matt Thornton. Tied with Aceves for most losses by a reliever in baseball.
  20. Can Thornton reach double digits?
  21. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 02:17 AM) Amazingly he got to bat second in a game in a pennant race. Amazingly the team he was playing for didn't make the postseason.
  22. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 02:17 AM) Insult to injury, royals winning Tigers pulled most of their starters, so it's not like Detroit is really trying.
  23. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 02:15 AM) Why is Ray Olmedo playing a game professionally that he is terrible at? Cause Kenny made a terrible blunder believing he could back-up Alexei at SS and Youk at 3B.
  24. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 02:12 AM) I am sorry but if you can't see it I don't think my explaining it will do any good. People have their own opinions on Peavy and others on this teeam and that's fine but Jake gives his all. Fair enough, but which pitchers on the Sox do you think don't give their all? Elrockin, I'm not saying you're wrong in your opinion at all.
