QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 07:25 PM) In the event of a surprise (?) PK retirement, would you try to bring on Youk as our 1B? Nope, put Dunn over there.

QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 07:24 PM) Its not out of the question that we could go after him. Kenny always gets his guy. Greinke hates it at the Cell

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 08:13 PM) Our pitchers throw some nasty pitches, but they also give up some majestic bombs. They've all turned into Liriano, four-five innings is maximum output. How come you guys all get mad when I suggest the solution?? It's Mark Buehrle. The man is a pitching machine and genius who coulda helped our staff get over this mental midgetness!!! Our starters have good stuff; they are unable to sustain it at all. Their lines add up to five innings of rottenness. Yet I'm the only one that appears to think Buehrle is the answer. Mark Buehrle gave up more home runs this year than anyone on the Sox while pitching in the NL in a mammoth park.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 07:16 PM) You and I disagree about Mark's "coaching ability" as well as pitching ability. That's fine. Why did the Marlins pitching suck this year then?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 07:15 PM) I think right after the season ends we'll hear about surgery and everybody will be feeling positive about Paulie as the offseason continues to be a feel good "White Sox did much better than anybody expected" love fest. That is, the rare occasions when people are talking about the sox, with the Cubs rebuilding and the Bears/Bulls doing their thing. Well, if he does have surgery, then that would give Marty more credibility to most on here since he started about a month ago he heard PK had a fractured/broken wrist or hand.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 08:06 PM) Marty, if you have inside sources, what is their feeling about Buehrle? Do they want him back? Do you or they agree with me that losing him was like losing a coach? He would have done wonders with our young pitchers IMO. If Miami is rebuilding why the hell would they want to keep Mark? We really need him IMO. STOP! The young pitching was fine with the Sox this year. Please get over your obsession with a pretty average pitcher now that is making way too much money.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 07:00 PM) With Sox not even bothering to bring Morel back up, I think its safe to say we'll never see him again. That's what Boers and Bernstein were discussing this past week.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) Fit in a little too well. Don't forget that not having a legit back-up to rest him really hurt the situation as well.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 06:54 PM) The Sox offensive core will be a year older, that's not a good thing. If Konerko comes back, they still have to replace Pierzynski and Youkillis, not to mention Peavy on the pitching side just to get back to an 80ish win team. Getting Danks back should help.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 06:29 PM) When we first got Youk, I thought he'd be perfect in the 2 hole, but as the season went on, oy ve. Seems like he was trying to hit a home run every AB the last few months.

Still think they're crazy for not shutting down Q after his last start. 2 batters, 2 runs scored today. When your announcers are flat out saying during a start that a pitcher is physical and mentally exhausted, you need to go with a different option. Q better be forced to win a spot in the rotation next year, as I have major doubts about his ability after the league seems to have made adjustments.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 11:15 PM) Might as well play our bench from now on. Johnson with a .550 OBP vs RHP. He only trails Viciedo by 12 walks vs RHP in 369 total ABs less
