  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:02 PM) I would assume season ticket sales will be 4000 less than this year or so cause of the lousy economy. Sox may need to make a splash and add somebody, anybody who might sell tickets. I'd bring back Buehrle for ticket reasons, get Miami to pay some of the contract and try to add a power starter as well. And if you can trade Rios, do so and try to add a bat. Again, why would season ticket sales be less next year as opposed to what they were coming into this year? Sox fans HATED the 2011 Sox team/organization, and that played a huge role in the 2012 dismal ticket sales. 2013 should hopefully see a boost from a competitive 2012. And can you please stop mentioning Buerhle in every post you make? His contract is terrible in the years to come, and it's not like he was overly great this season.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 11:01 PM) Ramirez showing up late that game we somehow lost to the Royals largely because of Olmedo...Ramirez getting picked off 3B....then his horrible hitting with RISP in the final 3 weeks. I don't want him traded, but I'm not going to be terrible disappointed either if they can get a good return for him. I wouldn't trade him. He's not great, but at least you know what you're getting with him.
  3. QUOTE (Real @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:59 PM) this organization is in trouble, if you thought this years attendance was bad, wait til next year when they can't break .500 and Detroit gets another big bat (VMart) in that lineup We all thought this last year, and that was before the Tigers added Prince.
  4. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:57 PM) According to him the season was over three weeks ago Hey, I've loved flavum's post about standings/upcoming schedule all year.
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:57 PM) The idea of Heath pitching doesn't bother me and with the state of this bullpen...someone in his position probably needed to...but guys like him pitching after weeks of inactivity is not a good position to be in That didn't stop Wise from pitching effectively
  6. Flavum, season over after Monday night?
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:55 PM) 0 home runs. Sox continue to give up home runs to some of the worst players on the opposition.
  8. Heath dominated righties in the minors.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:52 PM) Alexei w/ RISP: .341 A.L. SS RBI race: Ramirez #1 Back to the island with you! And 9th out of 11 in terms of OPS in the AL
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:51 PM) Those are valuable dollars you would think to an organization that had crappy year attendance wise. There's a 1B that should be offered to everyone well before Rios. If you can trade PK, you can move Dunn to 1B.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:51 PM) We already have an $83 million obligation towards next season. So KW and Hahn need to get creative. Is Gavin included in that number?
  12. Amazing how awful this team is with RISP. Everyone automatically seems to try and do too much. Flowers not finishing the season strong.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:49 PM) If it's possible to trade him, then I think the Sox will be all in to do so. We couldn't make playoffs even with him in the MVP conversation. That makes no sense. He was one of the few reasons they were in contention. If Konerko doesn't tank, then they probably make the postseason.
  14. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:48 PM) Nice approach Alexei. He has no plan at the plate.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:47 PM) 2 years/25 mil. It's bad, but not that bad. Is it bad? Wouldn't he get more than that on the open market?
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:46 PM) I don't think any teams would trade for Rios even if we give him away. I think that contract keeps him with the Sox like Soriano with the Cubs. Alex coulda hit .350 and nobody would have bitten this offseason I think. I think you're extremely wrong. Soriano's contract is significantly worse. There are some big market teams that will be in the hunt for a CF.
  17. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:44 PM) That game if we're thinking of the same one made Robin look bad for leaving him in too long And using Will Ohman in a non-LOOGY situation
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:39 PM) I wouldn't mind Flowers getting an opportunity to play himself into a regular catcher, but they better sign a good Plan B as a backup. Go get Jaso and you have quite the platoon.
  19. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:38 PM) Sale carried his ass taking the other team's best away from Peavy. He is a dick Yep, when he went "and you can take away from what", I was sure he was going to mention Sale. Instead, he mentioned Rodney.
  20. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:36 PM) Can't say that AJ would leave us in bad hands if he left us You want Flowers starting? You better have someone that can hit righties as your platoon partner with him. You don't want to go into 2013 with him and Viciedo in the same everyday starting lineup.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:32 PM) Back to the NL. It would be funny if him and Youk went to the Cubs. It's definitely possible.
  22. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:28 PM) I don't have a problem with what Peavs said. Sale is out of the conversation after today. Again, if you didn't know who was talking there, you would have thought it was a Tampa player. Praising Moore, Price and Rodney.
  23. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:28 PM) What's Crain's average look like? 93.6, the lowest of his career I believe
