Only out due to terrible throw by Viciedo. Is AJ allergic to the outside corner?

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 01:21 AM) 0-2 pitches to Pujpls down the pipe aren't good. Q is just terrible now outside that one Tigers start. He's pitching himself out of the rotation next year, IMO. Santiago has passed him.

Keep pitching him inside, he's not a good hitter and won't realize what's going on. Get Santiago up in the pen.

Haha, what a joke. They really are playing like they can't wait for the season to be over. Hawk sounds like he's going to complete his heel turn tonight.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 01:09 AM) Denard is such an awful passer. They put together a great drive and than call a stupid halfback pass. So bad. One of the uglier halves of football you'll ever see

Um, how was that 0-1 pitch to De Aza a strike? Ok, someone's getting tossed tonight.

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 01:22 AM) That's so true. I try to point that out when people say s*** like that. Yep, you can be upset about Hudson not being in the organization still, but Gio is long gone to me.

How is Denard Robinson still such a terrible passer?

QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 11:59 PM) I havent been so happy and so proud of a Miami team like I am today in a long long time. Still a long ways to go to being a Top 25 team but what a win. Paul Johnson showed such a lack of balls by not trying to ice the game with about 2 minutes left by going for it on 4th an 1. GT fans are about ready to run his smug ass out of town.

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 09:55 PM) ugh 6-0 Think on the bright side (and I'm being sincere). No matter what, when we wake up tomorrow, the Sox will still be in first place. Without the rain out last night, it could easily have been tied after tonight. Hopefully the Sox beat up on Haren tonight and we can still be in first place come Monday.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 08:51 PM) Indeed. It's still sucks though. That's why I hate the long baseball season. All that for nothing. They need to shrink it to a 150 game season. Or maybe the White Sox offense can find a way to not fade during the 2nd half of seemingly ever season this century.

Tigers game is just about over it seems. Cabrera and Prince are just playing out of their minds.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) This. I'm getting tired of going to bed with a knot in my stomach. I was probably more nervous a week ago. Now, kinda like what rowand proclaimed a few posts ago, it seems like the writing might be on the wall if this team doesn't play better.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 08:38 PM) I think it was pretty fair to presume the Tigers would take care of the Twins this weekend...the doubleheader is a break in that it probably makes it a touch more difficult for them to sweep. Let's hope we can win at least one and come out of the weekend with a one game lead. Anything else is just gravy in my opinion. I actually think the DH makes it easier for them, as Tigers are more likely to go with their main lineup both games while Twins might mix and match.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 08:37 PM) I'll be very curious to see how Scherzer looks tomorrow night. Seems odd that he'd be able to turn around and start throwing hard again after straining the shoulder muscle, but who knows? So they're not holding him out for a start?

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 08:34 PM) 2-0 kitties Tigers offense seems like they're getting a ton of base runners every game right now.

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) We're at that time of year where you just want to wake up in first place. It's bend but don't break time. But to be realistic, considering the Tigers are playing 7 vs KC and 6 vs Minnesota, I think the best we should hope for is 8-5 for the Tigers, and that would leave the Sox having to go 7-5 to win the division. But again, the Sox will wake up in first on Sunday, and they'll try to make it to Monday still in first. And so on until October 4th or 5th. Give me a one game lead come Monday, and I'm happy. 2 games, and that's a minor miracle.

Sox could be out of 1st by tomorrow night
I decided to look up some 2nd half numbers to see if anyone was performing better than they did in the first half. Of the main guys on the team, the only players with a higher batting average since the ASB than before it are: - Dunn (.208 before, .210 after) - Ramirez (.266 before, .275 after) Konerko was .329 before, and .266 after. Quietly, Rios is hitting .045 points worse in the 2nd half. Youk's .065 points lower in the 2nd half. As for the pitching, Floyd, Jones and Santiago have shown the most improvement since the ASB. Peavy's ERA is 1.35 runs higher, Sale's is 1.46 higher, Crain/Thornton about .8 runs higher, Reed's ERA was 4.06 before the ASB and 5.91 after. Quintana's ERA was 2.04 in the 1st half, and 5.06 in the 2nd half. Honestly, I'm not quite sure how this team has managed to stay in first this long. Guys like Flowers, Wise and Veal have contributed a lot since the ASB.

Despite our good season, we have MANY ?'s
QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 02:58 PM) There were many questions about many of the same players prior to the 2012 campaign, and many of them worked out just fine. Who plays third, who is beckham, is konerko done yet, what about rios and Dunn, etc. Question #1: Can Chris Sale be an effective starter Compared to this time last year, the Sox future seems much more stable to me.
