Hahn to become GM, Williams promoted to Vp of Bball Ops?
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:32 PM) It keeps everyone happy(or at least that's what I assume). Both Williams and Hahn get title promotions, and roles probably don't change a ton. 100% agree

Would make sense, and this season allows KW to go out on a positive note.

Very nice lineup!

White Sox unlikely to pick up Peavy's option
Bringing Youk back for $13 million would be a huge mistake, IMO. He's hitting around .200 since the ASB. If you're going to invest that much in a 3rd baseman, it seems like you could use that money for a better player. I'm not sure who would be available in the offseason (trade market).

2-1 Tigers after 2 1/2 innings due to Infante botching another double play. A's still can't get that big hit with RISP.

2-0 Tigers...they're playing small ball very well this series.

I didn't realize how good Sanchez has been for the Tigers his last 5 starts. This A's offense picked a crappy time to revert back to early season form.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 06:16 PM) 1-out double by Infante and here comes the world's most dangerous hitter with a runner on 2nd Millone's had great control all season...until today

Tribune stated last night that Wise is probably playing over Viciedo tonight.

9/19 White Sox at Royals
QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 05:01 AM) Youk killed us tonight as well. How does one guy get 4 hits and you still get shutout? Cause the #2 hitter is batting around .175 on the road this season and .200 overall since the ASB. Hey Kenny, don't extend him!

KC also had a ton of chances to score runs tonight as well. This loss is not nearly as frustrating as the two losses to them at the Cell a few weeks ago.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 04:55 AM) We stranded like 10 baserunners tonight. We had guys on base. We haven't been able to score runs without hitting the home run. That's what it has been boiling down to. The KC outfield defense makes the Sox into a station-to-station team more than any other opponent the Sox play.

QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 03:53 AM) We don't get on base. Lets not just assume it's poor effort, when we in fact lost the way one would expect us to lose. The shocker would be games where we pitch poorly, or fail with the glove. Those have been our strengths. Sox had more than enough base runners to win tonight. Problem is this team is struggling big time with RISP (and has all season vs the Royals).

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 04:17 AM) Tank was 5 for 12 with 2 homers vs. Chen going into today. He had a 1.029 OPS vs. LHP. Today was the perfect day to start Viciedo. He didn't perform. Yep, if you're not going to play him against Chen, then you made a huge mistake in not trading him months ago.

I really hope Ventura considers moving Youk down in the order until he starts hitting again. Have him bat 7th after AJ, move Rios to 3rd and have Wise bat 2nd.

QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 04:13 AM) What was the bad decision he made? Viciedo had a 1.293 OPS against Chen coming into the lineup in 19 at bats. If he gets 2 hits tonight, the Sox are still playing. Other than filling out the lineup cards or ordering bunts (mostly dumb) or hit and runs, managers have very little impact on the game. I guess you can put Olmedo at SS instead of Ramirez if you wanted to go with someone who is poorer defensively AND has a worse career OPS against Chen than Ramirez. If there was any guy in the lineup that should not have played tonight it was De Aza...and he banged out 4 hits. Otherwise, the lineup in the game was about as optimal as you get against Chen. The lineup failed, not Robin. Agreed, if anything, Viciedo could have been batting higher in the order. No fault with the lineup at all tonight.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 03:05 AM) RV, you absolutely suck right now. You know I agree with you 99% of the time about Ventura, but I don't find fault with him for the loss tonight. Typically, I'd gladly take my chances with Viciedo, Alexei and Flowers at least getting one run home against a soft tossing LHP. I would have liked to see Veal face Gordon, but it's not like Sale is easy on lefties.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 04:04 AM) Baltimore also Yeah, I was counting them as in (they have an easy schedule rest of the way while A's have an extremely hard schedule).

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 04:03 AM) No chance in hell 2 teams come out of the Central. Win division or go home! Why isn't it possible, especially considering the remaining schedule for the Tigers?

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 02:59 AM) This 2 game lead can evaporate in the blink of an eye. This team better show up these last 2 weeks. I still think the A's are going to collapse and the Sox/Tigers could both make the postseason.
