  1. I know it's a silly question likely, but Hawkins will be used as an OF and not pitcher, correct?
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 5, 2012 -> 12:37 AM) What does Keith Law think? Hopefully he says he can't hit offspeed pitches, just like he said Sale doesn't project to throw a good offspeed pitch.
  3. That's awesome for Pirates, cool to see. Sox were never going to sign Appel, so it's just one more person to fall to the Sox.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 11:55 PM) I still love Stroman. Appel would be beautiful. Would be a very tough sign though. KW and his Stanford bias
  5. QUOTE (staxx @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 11:48 PM) if not appel, hawkins may be there. Rockies been rumored to be in on him big time
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 11:47 PM) More likely means that Heaney could slide to the Sox. or Wacha
  7. Let Appel keep dropping to the Sox Cubs probably going after Almora here
  8. Twins need pitching in their system more than toolsy outfielder. I would have gone with Appel instead of Buxon, IMO
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 11:20 PM) I keep getting a feeling that Florida's catcher will slide. I think Pirates would take him though before Sox could get any chance.
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2012 -> 12:19 AM) This was my top guy in the draft. When I've seen his video, the dude just screams upside. Yep, I said the other day I hoped the Cubs wouldn't get him.
  11. So, final predictions for first pick by Sox? I'm going with Stratton
  12. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 08:50 PM) If we draft a position player, I just ask that it's a player that doesn't project to strike out once per game. Stroman is my favorite, but Giolito would be VERY interesting...it'd be hard to blame them for it. I know his mother and they're a great family, not trying to cheat anyone out of their investment. Giolito would go against everything they believe in, it would seem (high school pitchers, injury risks)
  13. Mitch Nay was ranked as a 5th/6th round talent by BA
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 03:50 PM) The Sox hot streak started the second game in Anaheim. Counting that game until now Dunn is 10-56 .179 5 homers 10 rbi 18 walks 37 strikeouts During the time the White Sox have gone from stepping back a season or two and rebuilding to solid contender, he hasn't done all that well. If you want to give him an A, you probably want everyone to have a trophy. .378 OBP with meaningful homers (game winner against Matt Moore, momentum turning homer against the Indians, etc) is fine with me
  15. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 03:45 PM) He's been phenomenal in tied game situations. Second highest stats on the team after Konerko in fact. He also would have had the game winning RBI if Thornton didn't blow the game against the Tigers and the Friday/Saturday games from this past weekend. Just in the last few weeks, he had game winning RBI in two games vs the Cubs and the game yesterday.
  16. Beckham's had so many clutch hits over the last month or so, and people forget just how terrible the 2nd spot was producing before he got going. I can think off the top of my head about 5 games where Beckham had the game winning RBI.
  17. Flowers called a great game today. Sale's slider was filthy and Flowers didn't wait until two strikes to call it
  18. Flowers could have got that ball in fair territory
  19. Crap, hate seeing Olivo here. I'd bring in the righty
  20. HUGE! Nice announcing by Stone
  21. Damn, leadoff single on the hanging slider
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 08:45 PM) Might be Axelrod on Wednesday. edit: he's starting today though. We'll see if they scratch him. Toronto hitters might break their backs swinging out of their shoes against him.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 08:40 PM) Ick Yep, considering it sounds like they were hoping for 30k yesterday and today
