  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 08:15 PM) useless splits are useless In your opinion, why is that a useless stat?
  2. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 07:13 PM) definitely. The most popular guy in town is always the 4th OF? Especially the old, bad ones The most popular guy is the .338 career April hitter
  3. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) Fukodome really needs to be in lineup after the spring he had. Yep, considering we face LHP the next two games, if Rios is 0-the first series, Ventura is going to have to get Fukudome in the lineup sooner rather than later.
  4. Having Rios and Ramirez starting off the year backing back-to-back is probably not a good idea given Ramirez's track record and Rios forgetting how to hit.
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 07:47 PM) Is it bad that i now get hit by a bout of crippling depression every time Beckham comes to the plate? Well, the good news is that I can't imagine there being a 2013 in a Sox jersey for Beckham if he struggles in 2012. Make or break year for him with this organization, and I think he'll do good enough to stick around.
  6. It's really too bad we can't just play Fukudome and let him bat 2nd until he hits his "rest of the season" swoon
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 07:37 PM) Viciedo XBH here. Book it. Kudos!
  8. I don't think I mentioned this in another thread, but I hate the idea of Morel batting 2nd. He's so much more effective when he's aggressive and trying to pull the ball at the plate. However, I feel like he's going to try and hit it to the right side a lot and take more pitches batting 2nd. I would have rather had AJP or Alexei batting 2nd, and make Morel prove himself this year.
  9. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 07:28 PM) Pop out to third and every infielder will have a pop up. 3 infield pop ups, a K and a caught stealing.... Clearly, the answer is FIRE WALKER!
  10. Let's go Sox! I hope the team and everyone on this board has a great season!
  11. Tigers going to win a ton of games if teams pitch around Cabrera to get to Prince.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 08:15 PM) I know Morse is hurt, but that lineup doesn't look very tough for a supposed contender. Mark DeRosa??? Call up Bryce Harper now It baffles me how they neglected to get a 1B or CF yet traded a TON for Gio
  13. Masterson K's the side in the first
  14. QUOTE (Nokona @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 08:12 PM) Morse is injured. Unless they wanted him out in RF? Morse going to play LF, I believe
  15. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 08:08 PM) That Boston line-up not looking as potent as it usually does especially if Youkilis is not 100% What was that team thinking this offseason? I don't see them competing with the Yankees/Tampa this year.
  16. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) Adma LaRoche making the Nats look bad today. Two god awful at-bats. Still can't believe they didn't go out and get a 1B this offseason
  17. Would Zimmerman's fly out or Soriano's fly out have been gone if wind wasn't blowing in?
  18. FWIW, I thought Ozzie managed a good game tonight.
  19. I wish Ozzie well in Florida, and I think he's the perfect manager for that team. That park is gigantic, and Ozzie will keep that team playing small ball instead of relying on a 3 run homer. There is some insane speed at the top of their order. As for what he said in this article, I truly hope Ozzie doesn't alienate himself too much from the Sox organization. I guarantee in a few years when they're celebrating the 10 year anniversary of 2005, Ozzie will be someone that everyone wants included in the celebration.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 12:48 AM) Seems like so much wasted space in left field with that massive ugly green wall leading up to the massive ugly hideous nasty embarrassing statue. I hate this stadium. I also hate seeing how it's going to kill Stanton's home run potential.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 07:55 PM) Jared Mitchell hits a homer out to the Houston pen to tie the game at 5. Very impressive!
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) For the price and what he brings, that Fukudome signing was pretty solid. Indeed, and to be honest, I think the Sox would be a better team with a Fukudome/Lillibridge platoon in RF instead of Rios playing every day.
  23. Davis already has a better jump shot than Chandler or Noah ever had. I think he's going to be a very good, but not great player. Camby is a very good comparison.
