  1. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 03:48 AM) Do you think Robin is leaning that way? Yes I do, as he's sure managed that way of late
  2. Wilkins with a very impressive swing off of a big league pitcher. It seems fairly obvious that Santiago is going to be the closer. In a few games where Ventura has managed the bullpen realistically, he had Reed/Thornton setting up for Santiago. I was very, very impressed with what I saw from N. Jones tonight. Thornton looked terrible though, as his fastball seemed way off. Hopefully he was just preserving his arm.
  3. That was awesome tonight. One of the better Raw crowds I've ever seen. I still don't get why Rock beat Cena, and THEN Brock goes after the person who lost the night before. Oh well, just great to see the big guy return.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 05:22 AM) For people that supposedly love college basketball there sure is a lot of b****ing in this thread. For me, it's a shame that my favorite sporting event of the year (NCAA Tournament) was an absolute bust this year. Not one lasting memory, in my opinion. Hell, even during One Shining Moment, they showed a missed shot at the buzzer instead of being able to show a single buzzer beater from the tournament.
  5. What an awful game...fitting for this awful tournament.
  6. I really hope Calipari goes to the Knicks now. Kentucky getting so many of the top prospects has killed the tournament the last few years.
  7. It's really too bad Ohio St. couldn't have beat Kansas. Much more likely this would have been a closer game.
  8. Thomas Robinson playing TERRIBLE! His lack of touch in the paint is astonishing. Withey is far and away the best player out there for Kansas. When Young came in for Kansas early in the game, that seemed to be all Ky needed to get the momentum.
  9. I think this game is over within first 8 minutes. Kentucky by 18 is my prediction, as I'll be flipping it to Raw by 9PM
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 10:40 PM) Orris is keeping his commitment to Illinois after speaking to Groce. Of course he is, wouldn't you if you won the lottery (ie: Bobby Frasor getting to play at UNC)? I bet the Illini fan base will be upset he's staying, as he pissed off a lot of fans with his e-mail to Weber about the team.
  11. I've said for a while now that he should have started the year in the minors to actually prove he can be anything better than an average minor league pitcher as a starter in the higher levels. As it stands now, hopefully he's just used as a mop-up man when the outcome of the game is out of question.
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 06:05 PM) Reds are working on locking up Votto long term. Guess he won't be the Cubs first big fish under Theo. I highly doubt he would have signed with the Cubs. IIRC, Votto HATES them. Also, Rizzo likely has 1b locked up for the Cubs in the future.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 05:48 PM) I hope they filmed Shameless 2 and 3 back to back, I dont want to wait until next January to see it again. MVPs of season 2 were Lip and Jody
  14. The highlight of the night might have been HBK's acting during the HIaC match. With that said, why did he superkick Taker only to then do a normal count on the pin attempt?
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) Jericho is already talking about taking more time off to tour with Fozzy. Its hard to book a guy and make him go over if he isnt around for an extended period of time. So now he is just helping put CM Punk into another stratosphere. Regardless of his gimmick, the match between the both of them last night was pretty awesome. That's the thing, Jericho's done nothing since he got back to make himself seem like a "big deal". If he would have won the Rumble, it would have been a much bigger win for Punk in my opinion.
  16. Couple of random thoughts on what I thought was an average WM: - Taker and HHH literally didn't use the cell for anything in their match, I don't believe. Might as well have just been a no DQ match. - I HATED the ending to the Cena/Rock match. I swear Rock has won half of his main events by countering his opponent trying to do the People's Elbow against him - No big bumps throughout the night. - I have no idea why they've booked Jericho the way they have since he returned. He comes back only to lose at the Rumble and at WM, and his gimmick has been pretty awful.
  17. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) So you would trade Nestor Molina for Travis Wood? Yes
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 07:28 PM) f*** the score. NW, ILL, OSU and the rest of the Big Ten can forget about this kid. UK, UNC, and even KU have a better chance. I am souring on one and dones anyway, so sick of all of that bulls***. Tony Parker just said the other day that he was wary of schools that were going to make his fat ass lose weight. Seriously kid? Tony Parker sure has gotten a lot of attention for someone who's not a top 25 prospect. I think he was Kansas bound prior to Danny Manning leaving, so he'll probably end up at UGa now cause of his mom.
  19. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 07:24 PM) His dad doesn't fly and wants to see every game according to the score. I think he sticks somewhat close to home, though Kentucky would be included in that. You have to wonder if Marquette would be an option for him and Nunn if Howard goes there (four schools I've seen rumored for Howard are Kansas, Kentucky, DePaul, Marquette).
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 07:11 PM) He's not going anywhere in the Big Ten. I would be extremely surprised if he didnt play for coach Cal. Especially if Cal is able to get Jerrance Howard to become his associate head coach.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 05:10 PM) +1 I feel the same. I have very little expectations for this year, so if our young guys can perform well this season while the team still wins 80-83 games, I think it would be a very successful season. I think I'd much rather see the Sox win 78 games with Beckham, Viciedo and Sale performing well compared to the Sox winning 85 games due to Peavy/Konerko/Alexei having huge seasons.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 03:43 PM) I'm extremely worried about Viciedo's future, because he tends to be a slow starter anyway, and this team has an annoying history of rapidly turning people who start off struggling into platoon players because the veteran on the bench needs his at-bats. I could see KW being quick to trade Viciedo this year, in all honesty.
  23. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Mar 29, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) I'm making a bunch of assumptions here but... Assuming no attrition from the current roster except Leonard, and assuming Hill and James stay committed in the Class of '13, Illinois has 6 scholarships for '13 and '14 (Leonard, Head, DJ, Paul, Griffey, Bertrand). With Hill and James already in the fold, that leaves 4. In that scenario, I assume that Groce tries to take 4 in '13 and 2 in '14, leaving one ride free for Parker until the end. In that scenario, how do you take Nunn? I always assumed that the committment of Hill meant that Nunn was going elsewhere? I could be wrong on this assumption, but that would be a lot of guards in one class (granted, the highly ranked early guys in '14 are bigs and you have a guard oriented offense now, but my point stands). Still, good to hear the continued positive feedback about Groce. Seems to be a lot of excitement about his offense. There's almost definitely one transfer leaving it sounds like. Also, any scholarship projections should only have Parker listed as being in school for a year. I personally think Nunn is incredibly overrated, as he was terrible in any game I saw Simeon on TV this year. From all accounts, Hill is clearly the better prospect now.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 29, 2012 -> 08:00 PM) I dont think he really has any extended range. I'm sure illinois fans would say he is working on it, but his jump shot is pretty ugly. He would basically be in the middle dunking the s*** out of the ball in this offense. He would also be rolling ALOT to the basket on ball screens. Leonard has a pretty damn good looking jumper. Anyways, not many people think he's returning, so it's probably not worth debating
  25. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 29, 2012 -> 06:55 PM) Eh, its a 4 out 1 in offense. One big man like that makes them very dangerous. He wouldnt be out on the top of the key like that dumb motion offense. But that's the thing, if Leonard comes back next year, wouldn't he want to try and show his extended range, etc? I think Leonard will kill it if he goes to the individual team workouts, etc. He'll be a top 10 pick this year, IMO.
