QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 01:03 AM) Oh man, show is so intense. I can't wait for the 90 minute finale. My guesses here are that Brody doesn't actually wear the vest, and that he was simply instructed to give it to someone else, but of course had to know how it works to be able to pass on the information. Secondly, I think Agent Galvez is the mole. He is the guy who Estes assigned to Carrie earlier in the season. I don't remember much about him, but I believe he has ties to the middle-eastern world in some form, and seemed suspicious to me. My dad thinks Estes is the spy, but I think thats just too cliche that the boss is the bad guy. And Saul being the bad guy is possible, but its been hinted at too many times with the lie detector thing, and his middle-eastern wife, and a few other odd things he has done. If it was going to be Galvez, I feel like they would have focused more on him. I definitely think it's going to be Estes, in an effort to work with the VP in order to get promoted when the VP becomes President. Also, I love that the VP is the bad guy from The Stand.
  4. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 11:13 PM) I wonder if teams are waiting to see who wins the claim on Yu Darvish before anyone commits to a Danks or Floyd trade. Wishful thinking? Makes total sense
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 12:03 AM) That's a good signing, I think Willingham's a bit underrated as a power hitter. That being said, he is doing himself no favors with his choice of home park, first Oakland, now Target field. Don't forget coming from Florida as well and then playing for Nationals.
  6. Sounds like Willingham to the Twins. Good, rather not have to face Cuddyer 18 games (however, I could see the Indians being interested in him).
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 10:49 PM) Oh my goodness. Again, Rip is awful. He's old, unathletic, can't create a shot for himself or anybody else, and is a hack defensively. He's better than Keith Bogans so that's an upgrade? lol. The Bulls were not 62 wins good last year. Their division was terrible. It might be terrible again. Who knows. They still have nobody to take the scoring/playmaking load off of Rose. They have nobody that commands a double-team inside. Boozer, even when healthy, is a hack defensively. Athletic front-courts eat him for breakfast. And the Knicks now have the best front-court in the east. Even with the Knicks' deficiencies last year, they're a 50+ win team with 'Melo. Amare/Melo should be even better this year now that they've had a chance to mesh some. Tyson Chandler changes everything. Talk about Dirk all you want. Tyson's elite defensively abilities were the difference between last year's Mavs and all the other chocking teams they've had in the past. Their backcourt is not terrible. Fields > Rip. No question there. I can think of a lot worse PGs than Douglas. Knicks, Bulls can go either way. But the Knicks have improved. The Bulls simply haven't. Knicks have added some great defensive players this offseason in Chandler and Shumpert, but I highly doubt their coach will motivate them to defend as hard as they need to.
  8. QUOTE (Tex @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 11:51 PM) I am wondering about all the Oz love. Maybe he's a pro's pro. What love are you talking about? The love that pays free agents more money than other teams are offering in a state with no income tax?
  9. I'm convinced Cardinals don't think Pujols will be able to stay healthy and/or not deteriorate mightily 6-10 years from now. I think it was definitely in their best interest to let him go.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 10:24 PM) The combination of Florida's manager & Reyes' recent injury history = lots of playing time for Mr. Vizquel. I look forward to seeing Ozzie let Omar bat down 1 with no one on and 2 outs in the 9th instead of letting Stanton hit for him
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 10:41 PM) I guess that makes Carlos Quentin underrated and a bargain too? I asked before..how many times has he been on the DL the last few years for these arm issues? Oh, and yes, I think Quentin is underrated and some team should really try to get him right now.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 10:19 PM) Besides that he has had shoulder and elbow problems since being in the US, plus he had injury problems in Japan too. And that injury history has resulted in him probably being one of the most underrated players in the last 5-10 years (2.18 ERA during his career).
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 08:38 PM) His injury history is the big reason he got so little money in general. It makes a comparison with Frasor moot. What injury history are you referring to outside of his leg problem last year? Seemed pretty healthy in 2009 and 2010 in order to throw over 50 innings.
  14. So who are these promos about for January 2nd, 2012?
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 09:03 PM) I don't think Frasor's option is terrible, it is probably a decent value for his skills. I just think it wasn't the right move for this team this offseason. So he's worth two times more than Saito? It was a terrible move by KW, in my opinion. Should have just let him go. Hell, he couldn't even be trusted for the Sox last year after a few weeks.
  16. Saito getting 1.75 million on the open market pisses me off even more about Frasor's terrible option being picked up.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) Such a clutch show. They gave away ALOT in the preview though. I know I am emotionally invested because I keep yelling at Winters to stop being a terrorist. Yep, I feel like I saw a spoiler for the finale without having the option to avoid seeing it.
  18. When's the last time a team traded a good prospect/trade chip with a terrible salary player in order to make a team take on the salary? It doesn't happen very often.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) Actually, there's good reason to believe the opposite, that Ramirez has benefitted quite a bit from Wrigley. .972 home OPS over the last 4 seasons, and if park dimensions are calculated alone (not accounting for wind) he'd lose 6 HR's out fo the 16 he hit at Wrigley last year just from the fence position. And I'll use the good old "eye test" here, as in the games I watched, he was the only consistent Cubs player to fly out to the warning track when wind was howling in.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 03:53 AM) DET fans would argue that really Scherzer and Porcello should be their 2/3 guys with Fister 4th and Penny/Jacob Turner 5th. Avila...although "Aliva" might be a more appropriate name for when he hits against us. His father is also DET's Assistant GM, and he wasn't even drafted so highly. Their biggest weakness, to me, remains their middle relievers. Tigers bullpen so far is Dotel, Benoit, Al Al, Coke and Valverde. That's pretty damn good.
  21. Don't forget that KW and company seriously considered drafting Loux but medical issues caused the team to pass on him.
  22. Rowand to the Marlins on a minor-league deal. You can't make this stuff up!
  23. Aramis Ramirez signs with the Brewers. It's going to be a really nice to get to root for him after having to root against him for 8 years. He's going to be a monster in that park, as he lost more homers than anyone at Wrigley with the wind blowing in.
